8 Months Post Op

Jul 27, 2010

I'm a little over 8 months post op now from my revision surgery. I've lost 74 pounds. The weight loss has been very slow, but at least it's coming off. I would like to lose 110 more pounds, so hopefully I'll be able to. I'm still having no issues at all which is a good thing. Another update will come when it's my one year anniversary.

4 Months Postop

Mar 20, 2010

It is exactly 4 months today since I had my revision surgery. I am down 47 lbs. I am happy about those results, but like most people, I want more. The loss has been slow, but at least it's steady. I've been working out some. I focus on eating protein and limiting my carbs and sugar intake. I've had no problems at all with this revision. No foods make me sick. I haven't had any bathroom issues except they're more frequent now. I usually go twice or three times a day now and before I would usually go every other day. I go back for my 6 month checkup in May. Another update will come in May.

7 Weeks Postop

Jan 07, 2010

Well, as of tomorrow, Fri, Jan. 8, it will be 7 weeks since I had my revision to a distal bypass. I've lost 27 pounds since surgery. I guess you could say I'm somewhat pleased with that. I knew the loss would be slow. I'm hoping to be down at least 40 pounds when I go for my 3 month checkup, which is next month. I haven't started excercising yet. I joined the gym at where I work, and I have found me some workout buddies. My first workout is going to be tomorrow. I hope the weight will keep coming off as I start to incorporate excercise in my life. I will have my labs drawn next month at my 3 month checkup.

I've had my revision surgery!

Nov 30, 2009

A lot has happened since I posted back in June. I started out seeing a surgeon in Charlotte, NC, but he wanted to put a lap band over my bypass, and since I didn't want that, I found Dr. Sudan in Durham, NC. I went to my first consultation with Dr. Sudan on 09-28-09, and I had my revision surgery on 11-20-09. I didn't have the revision to the DS; I was revised to a distal bypass or also known as the ERNY. I came home from the hospital on 11-23-09. I'm doing pretty good. I've already lost 10 pounds- not a lot, but a small start. I'm having trouble getting all my protein in especially with the protein shakes; I just don't like them. I've already started my vitamin regimen. My bowel movements are different now than before my revision; they are loose, but I think that is one side effect of the distal bypass. I want to suceed this time; my heart and brain are really in it for me to succeed!
