Let me see....my story.  Well I wasn't always overweight.  In fact, as a kid I was pretty skinny and tall, that is until I hit puberity and then all heck broke lose with my weight.  I've had a lot of ups and down in my weight and have actually managed to lose weight a couple times, but always gained it back.  Recently, I had a health scare and it made me realize I need to lose weight.  Since I don't seem to have much luck on my own, I decided I needed help with it.  I settled on lap band.  My doctor wouldn't approve me for the bypass, but that was okay because I wasn't sure I was ready for that.  My mom has Crohn's disease and has had to have part of her colon removed.  Since we don't know if this is inherited or not or whether I will end up with the disease, I decided it would be best not to mess with the bypass.  It works very well for most people, but for my own personal situation, the band is what I decided was best for me.  Of course, I'm nervous about the surgery and the whole process, but I've been through a lot worse in my life and I'm sure it will be fine.  I really want to lose weight for myself, but also for my beautiful little girl.  I want so badly to have the energy to keep up with her.  I want her to have a mommy that is energetic and can lead by example when it comes to weight.  Wish me luck!
