Wow!  Has it been that long since I have been on OH?  Not much has happened in my life, other than the ugly "G" word...Gained.  I only have myself to blame for this.  No one has forced me to creep back into bad habits.  I take full responsibility.  I am scheduled for a EGD with Sclelatheraphy on Friday.  I hope that this, with my renewed vow to get back on track, help me loose the 60 lbs I have gained.  I am so blessed to have such a supportive hubby in this.  He knows that my gain has really gotten me down...and that I feel like a looser( and not in the good looser way)  Keep ya posted

I can't believe that I have not posted for over 1 1/2 yr.  Needless to say, I have been terrible at being on OH.  Jeannie Armstrong....I AM SOOO SORRY  PLZ FORGIVE ME!!!!!!

I am comming up on my 5 yr anniverary and I am sorry to say that I have gained about 25-30 lb in the past yr and a half.  I know what I have done to gain, and I am getting back on track with my self and my tummy.  WLS isn't easy!!!  They may have shrunk my tummy but not my head, and the thoughts of " one more bite won't hurt me" so soooo wrong!!

I about feel out Friday at work.  I was showing the girls a photo that I have of Wyatt on line and one of the doctors that I work with cime up behind me.  I asked him, Do you want to see something adoreable?  He said yes.  I showed him the pic of Wyatt, and he asked me if Wyatt had an eye deformity....Wyatt was WINKING at the camera.  The girls and I busted out laughing, and the doctor turned redder than a beet!!!  I guss he has never been around toddlers!

Ok, so I am not a big football fan, or sports fan for that matter,but I do endure it for my DH( he is a sports nut)  Once again, he has invited a bunch of guys over for the SuperBowl and expects me to feed all these men.  So in love and war, I have agreed, HOWEVER, I am providing WLS friendly foods so I can enjoy it as well.LOL (never underestimate a WLS pt)  I am having a few goodies for they guys, hashbrown casserole,M&M's, chips, crackers(non-wheat) but I have also made an AWESOME Tuna Ball ( did I mention that it is AWESOME?) homemade meatballs, cocktail weenies, ham and asparagus rolls...YUM-O!!  I can't wait to eat!

Tonight I made breakfast for dinner.  It smelled wonderful cooking.  Scrambled eggs, thick bacon, grits, cheese biscuits....yum-o!  I gave myself a teaspoon of eggs, teaspoon of grits, 2 slices of bacon and 1/2 a biscuit.  I did it right, protien first, chewed everything to a pulp, waited between bites, took about 45 minutes to eat.  10 minutes later, I barfed it all up.  I know beeter than to eat eggs!!!!!!  I love eggs, but my body no longer loves them!  Why does my mind have such a hard time remembering this??  My kids ate everything with gusto, and mom was in the john, getting rid of everything with gusto.!!!

Well, last Tuesday, Sept 11, I had an upper endoscopy because of not holding anything down.  My suture granuloma had come out a good bit, but it apparently was very happy where it was, because it had not come out all the way.  Dr Rashid ended up corterizing( burning) it off.  What a wonderful feeling to be able to eat and not get sick anymore!!

As we all know, having WLS is a life changing experience.  As we all know, you can have complicatons from it.  I have now had a few.  In July, Ihad a hernia repair, mesintary defect repair and found out that I have a suture granuloma. I am having a difficult time still keeping soft foods and liquids down.  Last week, my navel started hurting and by Sunday, I was in the ER at Atl Med Center.  I was running a 102 fever and had a large lump at my navel that hurt like the devil.  Well, low and behold I have an abcess from my surg in July.  I was in the hospital overnight on antibiotics and went home on Monday.  On Tuesday my abcess decided to start drainning, YUCK, while I was at work.  Needless to say it scared the CRAP out of me!  ( seeing a liquid come out of your belly button is not fun)  It has almost gone completely away now, Thank God, but it does remind oneself of what I have gone thru and what I will continue to go thru on this journey.

Danny and I decied that this year we would just stay home and do something around the Atl, so today we went to the Georgia Aquarium.  I have to say, I had a decent time there.  The boys went with us, and Wyatt showed his butt like any 2 year old would.  It did put a damper on the day.  after 1 hr, we were ready to get him, and ourselves out of there.  It was cool to see the Beluga(sp?) whales, they are SOO BIG!!!!  After leaving there we went to ur favorite mexican resturant, Uncle Julio's Casa Grande, on Peachtree St.  It was awesome, but suxed, due to the fact I am still on a liquid diet from my surgery on July 25th( I will go into that in a minute)  I had the Chicken Tortillia soup which is the bomb!!!   If you are ever on that end of town, I highly reccomend Casa Grande.  Now, back to my surg.  I had a hernia repair, mesintary defect repair and apparently have a suture granuloma.  The suture should have loosened up and come out over the past few years since my surg, but it hasn't, so Dr Rashid tugged on it to loosen it. Well, that has caused nothin but a pain in my ass, becuse now I can't hold any solid foods down.  I went in and saw her again this past week, and she says that the granuloma is still there.  She wants me to be on liquids and very soft runny food for 3 more weeks.. YIKES!!  So hopefully, it will wiggle itself out by the time i go back.  You can only eat so much soup and runny grits!

Goodness!!  Has it been since Dec since I have updated this thing??  Wow, time sure does fly!!!  I have had some coplications from my wls.  I had surg on 07-25-07 to repair an internal hernia, stuture granulomas, an area where the sowl was constricted on itself.  I am a bit sore, but feel great!!!!  I remember being in the or holding area, talking to a wonderful woman named Jackie Penn who is having surg on the 6th, and getting my "Happy Juice" then I was in the recovery room.  The procedure took about 2 hours.  Danny and my father-in-law,Mike, were there with me.  My sister, Elaine, stayed with me lastnight since Danny could not get the night off of work.  She is comming back tonight to watch the kids for me, since once again Danny can't get off of work.  I have been in Loratab heaven, and slept just about the entire time I have been home.  I have been up now since 330am, and think I will try to go back to sleep around 630 or 7 am.  I will try to be more diligent on updating my blog.

This year has had so many changes for me and my family.  It has been a bitter sweet year.  I am so thankful to have had another year come and go and still be here.  My health has drasticly improved due to my wls.  so far I have lost 160 lbs.  I have 20 to go to my personal goal of 180.  I have gone from a size 28 last new years eve to a 18(bottoms) and top from 24 to a 16.  all of my co-morbities have resolved.  I am still on blood pressure meds, but it is very minimal.  Not so much for my bp but for my kidneys.  My dh and dc are all alive, well and happy.  We have good jobs and a loving home.  My wonderful mother in law, Marlene, died this year in August.  She and I never had the chance to meet face to face, but we spoke just about everyday for 6 years.  I miss her terribly and would give anything to hear her sing Hello as she answered the phone.  My parents have been on my mind alot the past few days.  Dad died in 2000 and Mom in 2002.  They would have been so happy for me to have lost weight.  I know that they are looking down upon me.  2007 will be an awesome year for us.  We are going to get out of debt, pay off the truck and van and get the house ready to either sell, or remodle it to give us more room.  Good luck to everyone in 2007.  It will be an awesome year!
