Another Anniversary

Jul 12, 2009

Well, it has been another year.  I am still stable and doing well.  I am so thrilled that I have made it this long and am doing so well.  I have had no complications whatsoever from the surgery.  Everything has just been great and I am so thrilled that I made the decision to do this when I did.  I just wsh that I had done it a lot earlier

Where I am now

Jul 11, 2008

I was 55 when I had my gastric bypass.  It doesn't seem like it has been six years already.  I am so very happy with where I am today.  I have to really stay on top of what I eat.  I am so afraid of gaining the weight back.  I have been able to start an exercise program which is just doing the Walk Away the Pounds tapes.  I am up to doing 5 miles 3 times a week.  I felt so good when I was finally able to accomplish this.  It gives me such a good feeling to know that I am physically able to do this.  I will do whatever is necessary to keep from going back into the old eating habits.  Do they return?  Yes, they can return.  It is a daily struggle and one that I know that I will fight for the rest of my life.  However, I am motivated now.  I just look at the before pictures.
