I am a 40 year old married woman with 2 daughters and a Rottweiler.  I have been overweight for the majority of my life but made the decision late last year to lose weight after a health scare.  My doctor thought I was having a stroke and at that moment, the 270 pounds I was carrying became real to me.

I know that the Spirit of God had impressed upon me that I needed to lose weight in early 2006.  I got a trainer and started exercising but did not reconsider the amount of food I was eating.  That formula wasn't working.  I had considered WLS surgery but wasn't sure that was an option for me since I knew that I would still have to change my eating habits.  And also change the "Why" behind my eating.

After flipping through the People magazine regarding people who had lost half of their body weight, I read the article regarding Methodist Hospital Weight Management program.  I went to the informational session and decided that this was the best route for me.  I was approved for the program and started my weight loss journey on February 6, 2007.  It has, by far, been life changing and life saving!
