This is Christi's husband. My wife had her surgery on October 1, 2009. She passed away on October 10, 2009. They believe that it was a blood clot that caused a heart attack. The paramedics were here in the house when she started to crash. They worked on her here, on the way to the ER, and in the ER. There was no stopping it afer it started.

I urge each and everyone of you, after you have your surgery if you feel strange or have an increase in your pain level DO NOT HESITATE, CALL 911. Do not "wait to see if it gets better." like she kept telling me.

Please pray for my family, and I will pry for each and every person getting this surgery.

I received a call today from my surgeon's office and my date has been postponed until October 1, 2009!!  That really sucks!!  I had everything in order at work... and had notified all my friends - and now Its pushed out.  I guess its only 3 extra days... but still!!!  Guess at 45 I'm still entitled to a temper tantrum!!   

Ok - but I'm still approved ... and its still less than two weeks away.....................  see - I'm excited again already!! 

I can't believe it is happening this month.  My surgery date has been scheduled for September 28, 2009!!  That is only 12 days from today.  I'm a little nervous - but so ready to move forward!!!!

Its finally happening... I've been on this journey for so long - and I feel like I'm finally making progress.  I have my meeting with my surgeon tomorrow... I'm assuming I'll come out of that appointment with my surgery date.  I've heard some people call it their 2nd birthday.  I'm excited and nervous.  Things are going to be so different post-op.  When I look at all the progress that people on this site have made - I'm inspired and strengthened!  I feel like I'm on the right track for the first time in my life and that beating this condition is not only possible but inevitable!!   I know its not a "magic pill" but a tool that I can use along with counseling and increased activity to make real progress that will give me my life back!!

I can't wait!!

Well.. its getting closer to reality.  I have my pre-op meeting with my surgeon scheduled for Sept 15th.  Its been exactly 1-year since attending my first informational meeting until now and I can't believe its really going to happen.  I have spent my entire lunch hour just lookiing at before / after pictures and reading about other people's journey and really believe that I can beat it this time.  I've tried so many times before - only to gain back what I had lost and then some!!! 

I'm hoping surgery will happen sometime in October - and by my 46th birthday - I will have lost the first 70 lbs.
