I began my weight loss surgery adventure in April 2010 with the gastric band. Hearing that it was the least invasive and reversible, I chose to opt for this surgery.

A year and a bit later, and I have gained weight, been in immense pain and am siting with a deflated band in my tummy....sigh.  I have been filled and defilled so many times I feel like the Goodyear Blimp on SuperBowl Sunday.  It appears that a bad bout of the flu left me with a potentially slipped band and pain so bad in my chest and left arm I thought I was having a heart attack.

Although many have been and continue to be successful with the Lap Band, I have since decided (with the consultation and blessing of my family doctor) to have the band removed and pursue the gastric sleeve.

My colleague and friend (Kessey - she's on here tooooo) had the sleeve successful completed a month or so back and I have bombarded her with questions. :) I am excited to see her progress as I wait to begin the next leg in my journey.
