My weight loss journey
Oct 19, 2010
I am now over my first year of weight loss and I have lost 103 pounds. This is the first time I have blogged, but I wanted to vent some. It has been a very long and difficult journey for me....My surgery was july 27 2009. I had the gastric bypass performed. The surgery did not go as planned. I had to be opened, 8 days in the hospital, given 7 pints of blood, had to go back in the hospital 1 month later because of infection, had to be opened up again, I now have 2 inscional hernias that are going to be removed and I will be opened up again for that and I have had my gallbladder removed. In between that my husband had an affair and my 13 year old daughter took an overdose, along with trying to pass my state counseling boards and taking 24 hours of courses for the past 18 months.
I look back at the time since I have had my surgery and it is overwhelming to me how I have survived. But somehow I have. I give GOD all the glory. I never would have made it without him, my family an friends. I am learning to deal with my weight loss now, but I still have no energy and I have gained 6 pounds since surgery almost 1 year and 2 months ago. I am certain I would never have the surgery again.....But things happen for a reason in life and I know it is to make us stronger.
