Its been awhile since I posted but things have been going really good. I made it past the century mark!!! Yeah!!!!! In some ways it is so hard to believe. I am doing things now that I would never imagined a year ago. I just started a new job yesterday and the parking lot is 1/2 a mile away from the building. Before this surgery, there is no way that I could have been able to walk that and not even be out of breath. Its uphill for most of the walk to the truck and I was able to do it without anything hurting and not out of breath.
This past weekend was a blast. We drove up to Cincinnati, Ohio to meet up with my family for the weekend. My family drove down from Michigan and we had a ball. I haven't seen my parents since November and they couldn't get over how much I have changed. My mom gave me some clothes that she had bought and wasn't able to wear. Size 20 jeans and XL tshirts. OMG!! Can you believe that they fit? I was floored, especially by the XL shirt. Grant you it was a little tight around my bubble (my belly and butt area). But it really didn't look awful. I will post some more pictures soon as I can get the camera and the computer to play nice.

WhoHoo!!!!! I am so happy this morning. I stepped on the scale at it said 282. I got off and did it again to make sure that I wasn't seeing things. Thats 80 pounds since surgery. Just a couple of weeks a ago I was moaning and groaning cause I wasn't losing. I can't wait until Saturday morning. I live in Georgia and all of my family lives in Michigan. My husband and I decided to surprise them early since they think we are coming up for Thanksgiving, but I was offered a job and it's too good to pass up. So I have to start that on Nov. 11th. I love and miss my family so much, at least we are still really close even though we live over 600 miles apart.

Today has been a much better day. The scale has finally been moving again. I'm so glad, I was getting worried. I know that my body is just taking its time to play catch-up. I will just keep doing what I am supposed to do.

Wow, over 3 months have gone by. Time sure has flown. Sometimes I feel that it's going by too fast and others I think time is dragging. Some ways I felt that I would have been farther along. I'm hovering at 300 pounds. I know, 62 pounds is great but the other part of my brain keeps thinking (again) this is it, all that I'm going to lose. What if I am the one person this surgery doesn't work on. On a good note though, I am able to walk a mile and half. That is something that I haven't been able to do in many years. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the changes that my body and spirit have gone through. Sometimes though I feel like I'm in fish bowl and everybody is watching me. I have playfully nicknamed Eddie, my DH, the food police. I know he means well but it gets to be agrravating. When he starts, I will bring it to his attention that I am doing what I should and I appreciate his concern but he really needs to worry about his diet. I started today of going back to the basics. Lately I have been in little lax in getting in all my protein and vitamins. I just forget to take the vitamins at times. I take a multi-vitamin, a sublingual B12-3 times a week and 8 petite calcium pills a day.
I want to be success and be healthy for once in my life. I know I will be successful, I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

I have lost 48 pounds so far. I think that I have hit my first plataeu. I have been at 314 for several days now. I'm hoping that I will be able to lose more with in a few days. One part of my brain keeps saying this is all you're going to lose but I know that deep down this is just a temporary thing. I am able to walk much better now. I don't feel like a slow moving hippo when I walk. Plus I was able to do a workout dvd for the entire 30 mins a few days ago. I have never been able to do that before.

It has been one month today since I had the surgery. I have lost 33 pounds. So far eating hasn't been any trouble for me. I will not even test to see if I react to sugar. I have come to far to go back to that habit. I already feel much better. I can even bend over and touch my toes without too much effort.

Well I had my first follow-up appointment with Dr. Rutledge. I am happy to say that I have lost 21 pounds. I feel so good about myself already. I have been walking about a mile every day. I'm looking forward to being to go swimming and doing other forms of exercise.

I'm home from the hospital. Yeah. Thank you for your words of encouragement. They have been a big help. No complications or anything. If I didn't have a sore stomach area and 7 incisions, I would really think I haven't had surgery. I have been walking every morning about a block, hoping to increase that soon. I have an appointment for my first post op checkup on July 24th. I hope I will have lost some weight by then.
