NEW ME pictures!
Feb 02, 2009
Down to 165 now. I have lost 120 lbs!!!!!! Feeling great, looking great and getting loads of compliments from everyone!
Still have problems with some food. Still a trial and error. Coming up on my 1 year anniversary on March 4, 09.
Tried on a friends black dress the other day and boy was I impressed how great I looked! Took pictures of me in the dress but the pictures still make me look heavy, at least I think so. Posted it on this site. Also had my hair cut and dyed (thanks to my boss for giving me the make over!) and now I have people telling me I look much younger than my 57 (soon to be 58) years. I'm just having a fantastic day today with my new look and the wonderful compliments....life if good.
100 lbs gone for good!

Finally have passed the 100 lb mark!!!!!
woooooo-hooooo
Passed it and didn't even know it!!!!! I'm down 103 pounds so far. Some foods still don't agree with me so every day is an adventure. Loving how I feel, how I look and definately loving all the compliments I'm getting. Still need to lose 40 - 50 lbs. Am at 182, want to get to 140 or 150.
Got there the wrong way!

Well I am now at 195!!!!!! Went from 200 to 195 in ONE DAY! I didn't plan on it though. Hubby and I went rode our Harley from Banning (6:00am) to Garden Grove (about 100 miles/1 hour drive) The ride up was great, went to breakfast, threw up what little I ate. Stupidly didn't eat or drink anything else for the rest of the day. Left Garden Grove about 11:00, stopped 1/2 way to rest my numb butt, drank some 7up (I know it's a no no) should have gotten water. By the time we got within a mile of our home, I started feeling strange, kinda sick to my stomach. Weather was about 98. Soon as I got into the house I was tearing off my gloves, helmet, vest, top, bra, pants and underwear cuz I was so friggin hot. Realized what was going on so had some water and layed down. Fortuneately I was ok, but next day weighed myself and discovered I had lost 5 lbs in one day. Glad I lost the water weight but don't want to go through that again. Sorta miss the usuall journey losing a pound a week or every few days. Anyway, I learned the hard way to always drink water and to bring water along on hot days.
GETTING CLOSER!

Almost at 200. Just a pound or two to go. Can't wait to be under 200!!!!! Eating still has it's ups and downs. Skin becoming flabbier. Finding folds I didn't have before, but that's ok. better to have flab than fat.
So far...so good

Was 285 this time last year, am now at 210! Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
So far everything is going hunky dory. Still have issues with food at times. Some food tends to just lay there like a big lump. Some times I make myself upchuck just to get rid of that feeling, other times I wait it out till the feeling passes.
I really miss food alot, ALOT! But I definately don't miss the weight. I would love to just chug down a drink, water or whatever but can only take a few sips or gulps. And sometimes even that hurts a bit.
Need to get cracking on the excercise though.
Taking care of problems!
May 16, 2008
After 2 months of still having problems with food getting stuck I saw the Dr. again on Tues, May 13th. He said maybe I am constipated and it's plugging me up and not letting food get by. Although I have been having the squirts he said that that just passes by any solid poop. I can't figure out why as soon as I take a bite it gets stuck right away. Doesn't the food have to sit a bit in the stomach first before sliding down my intestine? Anyway, Dr. said take Milk of Magnesia for 2 days and see what happens and give him a call. And to try eating fruit after. I've had no trouble eating fruit/salad/soup.
So after the first swallow of that crap I couldn't do anymore. Tried the next night and just gagged and spit up, lovely. Will call the Dr. today and ask if there is anything else I could try.
Oh, and I've lost 44.5 lbs since surgery!!!! I am now at 217!!
WTF???
Apr 16, 2008
Ok, having problems when I eat anything other than soft food.
Each time I eat a bite and swallow, 9 times out of 10 I get that sharp pain between my boobs where I am assuming my stomach is or at least the passage to my stomach. I chew till there's nothing more to chew, I try to swallow only a small amount yet I still get the pain. And to add to my misery, I have to burp every few seconds. Little burps but burps none-the-less. The pains usually last about 5 - 8 minutes, they are very uncomfortable. I also try to sip some water in hopes that if it is stuck it will go down better but in rarely helps.
I'm starting to get depressed about it and I don't look forward to eating anything at all. Spoke to the Dr. at my 1 month check up and he said: I'm swallowing to much.....I'm not chewing enough...or I'm eating on an empty stomach. Don't know what to do and it's pissing me off.
1 month check up

4/4/08
Had my 1 month check up and have lost 22 lbs!!! Yay! Now I get to eat whatever I want but only 3 to 5 times a day and only 2 oz.at a time. Have to wait till 6 months out to eat beef/pork and grapes. Haven't had any problems with stuff that I've been eating so far. Had a small salad last night, yummy! Sometimes though I get a cramp right between by boobs, (where my stomach is I assume) while I'm eating. And then I start wanting to burp but only little burps come up. It lasts only for 10 seconds or so but it sure slows down my eating. Dr. Suh said I am either eating to fast, swallowing to much or my stomach may be to empty to cause this. Doesn't happen all the time fortunatley.
Went to the Redlands support group on Tues with my friend Tiffany. We got up and spoke about our journey along with others. Was very inspiring to hear everyone's stories and how much they've lost. Two more of my friends are having the surgery this month. Now we'll all be on the loser bench!!!!! I'll be back when I have more news!
2 WEEKS OUT
Mar 17, 2008
Well I made it through with no problems what so ever! I woke up from surgery asking if I had the surgery already! (Sorry, I know some people hate hearing that) I never had any pain, but I used my morphine drip just to try and get some sleep, which was a waste of time. First week home went fine. Came home on Friday then Saturday my hubby and I had some friends over and he barbequed burgers. Man did it smell fantastic but I wasn't hungry fortunately. But I still picture those burgers. Smelling food hasn't bothered me which I am grateful. I'm sick of broth, pudding, jello and water. I did have a day of depression on Sunday. My scale said I hadn't lost any weight, my hubby went golfing, nobody called. So I cried off and on all day, couldn't stop it if I tried. Figured I was having "Attention Withdrawl" and "Food Withdrawl". Spoke to my friend and my mom and felt better. Found out that depression is common after this surgery.
When I went to my 1st week check up saw that I had lost 8 lbs.!!!! yay! Got the staples removed and was given a list of more food to eat. But only 2 oz 3 to 4 times a day. I can eat scrambled eggs ONLY, any kind of cheese, refried beans, mashed potatoes, applesauce, fish-yuck!, creamed soup, milk, protien drinks and the usuall puddings, jellos, popcicles. Needless to say I am sick of all of them. But I never feel hungry. So bottom line, I'm doing great. Went to work today. No problems so far. Can't wait till my 1 month check up (4/3/08) to get more choices of food.
I do however need to get off my flabby ass and get on that treadmill cuz I won't lose if I don't move!!!!!!
ThIS IS IT!!!
