"When I first met Dr. Vaimakis I was very nervous. I wasn't sure of what type of questions she was going to ask me, especially regarding my weight history. I had done so much damage to myself from taking diet pills, doing liquid diets and failing at all these quick diet fads. Dr. Vaimakis made me feel so comfortable, I felt like I was just talking to one of my closest friends about my weight struggle. In my mind I felt that once the surgery was over I would be stress free and it would be an easy road, but of course the Dr. Vaimakis warned me of all the things that could happen with the band. She explained to me that this is just a tool to aide in weight loss and I have to be totally committed to the process. Her office staff are very pleasant and easy going. My approval came so fast that I couldn't believe it. I think if they didn't work so hard to get me approved I might have changed my mind about the surgery. On the day of my surgery Dr, Vaimakis was right there making sure everything was going smoothly before I went into the operating room. She always greets her patients with a smile and that just makes you feel like she is genuinely concerned about your well being. I have already recommended people to use her as a surgeon because there is nobody else I would trust. "
