I to am having RNY on March 5. I will keep you and all the other March 5-er's in my prayers! Phil Collins wrote "We Said Hello, Goodbye" and I would like to think we are all doing this. Saying goodbye to our fat and all its baggage, being scared to say goodbye to the "old you" and hello to who we really are inside- not just what everyone sees. When he talks about "...its a feeling you wake with one day" I think it applies because all though we are going to be in a new stage of our lives, we still are the same beautiful wonderful people we always were. We said goodbye to a dear old friend And we packed our bags and left feeling sad It's the only way We said hello as we turned the key A new roof over our heads Gave a smile It's the only way Only way Turn your head And don't look back Set your sails for a new horizon Don't turn around don't look down Oh there's life across the tracks And you know it's really not surprising It gets better when you get there oh Well it really don't matter much where you are Cause home is in your heart It's a feeling that you wake with one day Some people keep running all their life And still find they haven't gone too far They don't see it's the feeling inside - the feeling inside oh Turn your head and don't look back Just set your sails for a new horizon Don't turn around don't look down Oh there's life across the tracks And you know it's really not surprising It gets better when you get there We said hello as we turned the key A new roof over our heads Gave a smile - it's the only way

My best wishes for a safe and successful surgery. I hope all goes well for you and that you have a problem free recovery and a rapid weight loss. I had my open rny in Oct. 2001 and have lost 215 lbs already and am at my goal. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!! This surgery had made a wonderful change in my life and I feel so good now it is unbelievable. I was using a cpap for my sleep apnea now I sleep like a baby and my wife says that I don't even snore anymore!! Good luck to you on your surgery and recovery.
