36.5 Lost
Feb 25, 2009
Well, it has been over 7 weeks since my surgery. I have chosen Thursdays as my "official" weigh in day. Okay, I still weigh myself everyday, but I try to be happy with Thursday's number. Today, I am pretty happy. I would like to lose a pound a day, but it just isn't happening. I still struggle with night time. I want to eat even when I'm not hungry. Try to choose a health snack, but that isn't always the case. A few chips seem to find their way into my hand.
I have started a aerobic water exercise class this week. I'm going on Monday's and Wednesday's. So far I love it. I would rather be cold and wet than hot and sweaty. I may drop in on a Thursday night class to bump it to three days a week, but not really ready to commit to that. I want to be sure that I am getting there the two nights a week before I commit to the third night. I'm hoping that our weather will get a little warmer soon, and I will start walking the other nights. Michigan has had a fairly cold winter, with slick spots on the side walks. Yes, I do have a tread mill, but then you run into that sweaty thing again. Just not a hot sweaty kind of girl unless I am laying by a pool!
My focus will remain on getting in all my protein and water daily. Water is definitely a problem. Sometimes it goes down so easy, other times I feel like I will choke on it.
Also focusing on just positive things. Trying not to complain. Whether smiling to smile or happy to smile...I will wear a smile!

Closing in on Onederland
Feb 05, 2009
Well, it has been just a little over 5 weeks and I'm doing pretty good. As of today, I have lost 30 pounds from my highest weight of 232.
It can still be difficult to find things to eat. Some things smell good, but then the texture bothers me. Unfortunately, carbs still go down good and sit good. I have to be careful. I tell myself protein first! I work on getting 60 grams of protein in a day. I use different products to try to get my protein in. The protein drink I have been using lately has 30 grams of protein per 11oz. I drink half on the way to work, other half for a morning snack. I have just started eating protein bars. I chose the Pure Protein bars. One flavor has 20 grams of protein. I will have this as an afternoon snack some days. I still use the New Whey Protein Bullets 42 grams. I use 1/2 bullet with 8 oz of water.
It has been fun to shop again. Went to an outlet mall in Howell, Michigan. Liz Clairborne was having 50% off clearance. Most items were marked 14.99, so that made the items $7.50! I bought a couple of pair of capri's and a couple of tops for this spring/summer (they are size 12, but I'm sure that will be fine by the time spring/summer gets here.) I also picked up a pair of size 16 jeans to wear now. Can't even remember the last time I didn't have to chose from the women's section. I love that they are misses. It is such a slimmer fit that it really shows my weight loss.
I'll let you know when I arrive in Onederland!

Count Down to Healthy and Happy
Dec 29, 2008
Hard to believe that Monday, December 29 is finally here. The weeks went quickly, however there were days, I thought it would never get here. Then I started on the liquids and time has never went so slowly.
I have read posts at the vsg forum, Michigan forum and main forum. I have read through my folder from the surgeons office. Weighted myself, was measured and photographed. I'm packed and ready to roll.
Praying for a successful; uneventful surgery!

Count Down Begins to December 29

I met with Dr. Zeni and his staff. They are great. Dr. Zeni got my sense of humor. I love when someone gets my humor!
Originally, I was thinking I would have to wait for my surgery, but he had openings in December. Since I work for a school district, and we basically shut down for two weeks, I thought everyone did! It also works out because my DH took the week after Christmas off. Little does he know that he will be my nurse for the week.
I had gone in to Dr. Zeni's office thinking that I would have Lap Band. However, after a long discussion with him, it was determined that my best chance of success would be with the sleeve.
I am so grateful that I will truly be starting the new year making a resolution that will be attainable.
