When I got to the second sleep study on Monday night, 09/15/08, they had a CPAP for the night. The Tech brought in five masks for me to try. I laugh so hard because the first one that they showed me was cloth, gray and long, like just like an elephant trunk. You see I love elephants and collect them. So there was no way I could wear that one!! LOL. Had a good sleep till the lady came in to hook the wires on my leg back up. Yes, kick them off again. After it was over when to work. What a long tired day!! I have need a third one and its on a work night will be taken the next day OFF! Lucky I didn’t fall asleep on the way home. On Thursday 09/18/08, I got the call saying that they had the approval for the CPAP. We set up the time for them to deliver it to me at my job. I’ve sleep great for the past two nights with the machine. My son said, that he came in to wake me and it was quiet. NO SNORING! Wow!

So, I'm sitting here at work and the Sleep Study called my cell saying that they had a cancelation for to night. Don't like the thought of doing the study on a work night. The sooner that we get this one done the sooner I will be able to sleep the night away. Text my son and told him that I would only be home for a couple of mins then would have to head out for the night. Monday's is already my buzy night. Told the girls at work that I maybe late tomorrow. Hope that I get out around 6AM. That will give me time to get home (6:30), Take a shower (7:00), get dressed, eat Breakfest (7:15) and off to work (got to be there by 8:00). OK, I'm late already because if I don't leave the house by 7:00, trafic is ?!@? on 695- beltway

Sleep study

Got to the med center, they buzzed me in. The tech, meet me and to showed me to my room for the night. There was a full sized bed, nightstand, med table with all my nightly trimmings and a private bathroom in the room. Rating it *** maybe a **** star hotel room. (LOL)
The tech gave me time to settle in. Then came back to hook me up or plug me in. (LOL) She start with my head and there was three things across my forehead, one on the side of both eyes, a nose piece and a microphone on the neck. Then she put two belts on me. The first belt went around the chest and the other around my belly. Last were the legs. Sorry, forgot you also have the pulse thing around your finger. I could have only imagined what I look like! Just call me the Terminator wife. The tech helped me into bed. Told me that she was going to ask to do some thing to make sure every thing was working. Had to repeat each thing five times. Look left, then Right, up and down with just your eyes. Move your head to the left, right, up and down. Move your left and then right legs.
Everything was working well. Now, the fun starts, time to try to sleep. I don’t sleep on my back so first thing I did was roll over on my side and off come the wires on my left leg. In 2.5 sec., I here the tech say “Miss Crissy, you have knock off your left leg wires. I will be right in to fix the wires.” They fix the wires and once again I was off to sleep. Lying in the bed with a camera over my head, all I keep doing was staring and thinking who is looking at me. After I stop looking at the camera I feel asleep. I remember waking up once in a big panic and two other times each time drinking a bottle of water.
At 5am the tech woke me up and told me that the test was done. She came in and unhooked my for the machine. I was ok, till I want to the bathroom to get all the gook off my face and out of my hair. What a sight! After I washed up, They told me to go home and my PC would call me with the results.

Future Note: Hot water and a comb melt’s the gook in your hair.

Got the referral in the mail yesterday. Called at noon and they said that they had a opening tonight! Talking about a fast appiontment!!!  

I did it! Called  Dr. Vanguri office, to get the ball rolling. They are going to send me out all the papers to get started with him. Also sending financing information.
The first visit with him going to cost about $350 but they said that we can word thing different ways to see what they can get my inc. to pay for somethings. 
 God, please show me the way! 

 

So went to my PCP today. She is on board with the wls. And has referred me to take the sleep study. Also she said anything else I need she will try to help will.

Went to Dr’s yesterday. Ok, here it is. The new Dietitian said the complete opposite of my Dr. and also question the meds that I take. Then after talking and listening to her for a hr., she says: set-up an appointment with a Diabetes Educator. I asked; What the D.E. did? OK, PLEASE! I having had Diabetes for yrs. and she will teach me how to text my sugar. WHAT the????!  Don’t worry my day just got worst. Next was the nerve Dr. for my hands. That was a weird text. You see my hands have been going numbness for sometime now. The placed tabs on each finger the shocked different places on my arm. Then it felt like a little needles in my arm. He told me that I have carpal tunnel in both my hand. (Left hand the worst) That I should set-up appointment with my Dr. to see what’s next.  Wow! At least I had free tickets to the RAVENS. We had so much funJ   So a great ending to a bad day. 

Tomorrow will be a busy day. I took off work for not one, but three Dr.’s appointments. First is for blood work @ 9am, you know they just love my blood! Second is for a nerve specialist @ 12:30. My feet, Legs and sometimes my hands go to sleep anytime they feel like it. Third is that good old Dietitian. After that I’m going to the Ravens Game. Got the tickets from work for free. That will make a day at the Dr.’s worth it.

It's was a very hard and long weekend. My company is under 100 people in the US, so they do not cover any of the WS. I cryed so hard, even though my heart already knew. Sunday got myself together and went to a meeting. There a lady said that she took out loans. All I thought was OK is this the way I need to go! My credit is not good at all. My wonderful mom that want to the meeting with me, turned and said " Things will work out". Went home and talk some more with my parents and there even willing to co-sign for me.
