Well I am past the two month of my surgery and I feel good.  I am down 48 pounds and doing well with my meds.   I just thought a quick sign in would be a nice thing to do.  Don't you?

Well today is the 1 week mark.   I am feeling ok, borderline good.   I still have pains here and there.  The fear and pain were the biggest fears, but those have past now.   I miss chewing food.   Sounds weird, but I miss it.   I want to eat something solid sometime soon.  Other than that, I think I can still work with the diet.   Next week I can have an omelet.   JOY. 

Well, 7 hours for now I go in to get the sleeve.   I have that feeling I am about to sit down and strap in for a rollercoaster ride.   you know that feeling of fear and excitement. yeah, that's what I am going through right now.   I trust that everything will go ok.   but I am just looking forward to waking up problem free once everything is done.  

Well it looks like today is the pre surgery meeting. Yup, good ol’ blood work and the once over to make sure we are all set for next Wednesday’s surgery.  Sure I am getting a little psyched for this to happen.  I am not looking forward to the bad breath I keep reading.   I like gum, but this just covers it up.  I love Listerine, but something tells me that I will not be able to use this (and confession, I am that guy who swallow mouthwash) anyone out there have any thoughts?  

Also, The new diet starts Wednesday,   Veggies and good stuff in the body.   I will be fine, Just grumpy, I have already pre-apologized to my wife over my grumpiness that will certainly come around.  (thinking ahead)

Ok I got the call today, Surgery date is March 13, 2013.  Wow, this is truly going to happen.   So I am drinking some Verners before bed tonight just because I can.  I guess a bitter sweet way to say good by to some Cue Classics.  I recently stopped the smoking - so far I am 7 days clean, and I like the fact that I can truly taste and smell the soda tonight.  Well I have a month to wait for the fun and recovery to begin, as well as the new life.  I am looking forward to this change.   I am looking forward to the healthier me.

OK, I just found out this week that I have approval from my health insurance.   Now I must wait for the sleep study which happens this Friday.   Once I get the results, then I will be assigned a surgery date.   I don’t like the fact that I have had one sleep study to find out that I have sleep apnea, great now I have to live with this.   Now I must go for another study where I will be outfitted with a CPAP machine.  Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t this whole WLS help me ultimately get to a healthier state where the CPAP machine may not be needed?   If so, why am I going for the second sleep study?

So, currently I am getting nervous, excited, and scared over this surgery.   A lot of emotions I am having now a days.    Well more to come next week.   I will try to keep up with this blog at least weekly.
