Ok so I went to my one month follow up appointment last month and UGHHHHHHH so my insurance denied my referral to go see the psychiatrist because they say I have to be enrolled in a  physician monitored intensive weight loss program for at least 3 months before I can be approved for bariatric surgery soooo therefore its gonna take longer than I anticipated now. So my weight loss doctor gave me a list of programs that I could join and gave me information about the program she runs in her clinic butttt most of them cost money!! And the cost of her program for 3 months would come out to be $1,000! I was like really WTH ughhh so im a little frustrated and bummed right now and am going to have to find a 3 month program I guess.........Oh but I forgot to mention on a good note my wonderful honey got us memberships to the gym so we have been going at least 3-4 times a week and im actually enjoying for the first time EVER! LOL I think mainly because I have him supporting me and most of the time we go together although he usually just goes and plays basketball and lifts weight and i do cardio or take a class mainly Zumba. It just makes me feel better and more comfortable knowing that he is there with me...

So I had my consulation with the weight loss doctor today it went pretty good, it was a very lonngg appointment though! They told me one hour on the phone but it ended taking 2 hours lol but she did go over  A WHOLE LOT of info. She took my measurements of course asked me a few questions and asked about my eating habits and told me about a non invasive medically managed weight loss program they offered and then got down to the real deal and told me about what procedures/surgeries I would be able to have done and informed me on the pros and cons of each. She even drew pics and brought out models of some of the devices...She then said she wanted to make sure that I knew this was not a "miracle solution" and that I needed to be aware of all the risks and be ok with it and to know that I still needed to diet and do all the stuff I have been doing and that surgery was just going to assist me and give me a major head start in reaching my weight loss goals but not be a cure for it. I told her I understood and I have done my research and want to move forward in the process, she was very informative. She told me that I would need to see a registered dietician and a psychologist and have a sleep study done and  she would put in referrals for all of those and they would be contacting me shortly, she also peroformed a light physical and performed an EKG. And after that I would be set up with an appt to see my surgeon once I passed all that!  She also told me I would need to be on a 1000-1400 calorie diet and lose 20-40lbs before surgery and that it would be 4-6 months before my surgery! Which from all the research I have done I knew any way LOL but today is step one in the right direction! Hoping ALL goes well and I can get this done quick and smoothly!! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! So today is the start of my longg awaited journey lol i have my date to meet with my weight loss doctor finally! And guess when it is Dec 31,2012!!!!! LOL I have been telling my few friends that know and my fiancee that must be a sign from God a new year for a NEW ME!!! =) I cant wait either im just kinda dreading the whole process because I know its a long one and im only at the beginning!!! Ughh but hey its a start in the right direction i guess... The scheduler on the phone was very nice and told me about what to expect when I meet with the doctor she will let me know my options and what kind of surgery she thinks will be best for my goals and health and then after that I will be referred to a psych doc and a nutrionist and then after that I will be referred to the surgeon who will be hopefully be doing my surgery and SOON LOL im just scared about the ins auths that will be needed as I work in healthcare and know how long that sometimes can take UGHHHH. So im excited to get the whole process started!! Hoping that it goes smooth and fast!!! Im thinking maybe 6 months?? But who knws we shall see and I will keep you guys updated!
