Hello my name is Cassandra and my story begins 10 years ago.  I always was a "normal" weight and was relatively happy with my size.  I shopped at regular size stores and often didn't have to try on clothes.  Well in the early spring of 2000 I had major surgery, the type of surgery that isn't normal for a 27 year old female.  Since that surgery my weight has progressed faster than a man loosing his hair.  I've tried every diet & fad out there.  I've taken pills, starved myself had B6 & B12 shots 3x a week and nnoootttthhhhiiiinnnggg WORKED!!!.

I work for one of the nations largest healthcare companies and honestly thought that I was in "good" health.  About 2 years ago during my physical exam my doctor informed me that my blood sugar (glucose) level was high. We started to monitor my glucose and it's continued to edge higher each time.  I never gave bariatric surgery a thought.  I honestly didn't think that I was heavy enough for any type of surgery.  Fast forward a year and 3 rescheduled nutrition appointments and I finally started my process Dec 2009.  Currently my VSG surgery is scheduled for 12/9/2010 and I can't wait.  I've never been so excited.  I told my husband it feels like I'm about to start my journey back to myself.  To not have knee pain, or back pain or cry when my clothes don't fit me the right way or stretching my shirts each time I put them on because they don't always fit.

It feels really good to know that I'll finally get to just feel like "me" again.
