Hi my name is Cindy, I live in Brampton, Ontario and I have battled my weight as long as I can remember. Although I wasn't a "fat" kid I was always rounder than my friends. Once I hit the teen years I stopped growing up and starting growing sideways in a big way and have been yo yoing ever since. I've tried as many diets as I've lost and gained pounds (probably 1000+). I turn 50 next year and decided to go for surgery because I need to finally do something that will help me be healthy and stay healthy once and for all. I am hoping to have VSG because, to be honest, RNY scares me 
but I will weigh the options when I get further into this journey.
I am a single mom of 2 teenage boys, both with disablities. So although it's not an excuse for my weight, my life is challenging. I have a wonderful friend whom over the years has seen my weight go up and down and told me about WLS and the options out there. She also directed me to OH and I am so glad she did. I have learned so much already and appreciate all the messages of encouragement everyone shares here. I am hoping to meet others here that are on this journey too and (hopefully) together we can make this ride one big success story after another and little easier for all of us.
