One month away from my one year anniversary

Jan 14, 2008

Wow It's been so long since I have posted! I have been very busy with college and two part time jobs.

I have lost a total of 70 LBS. I have 18 LBS. to go. I was hoping to get there by my one year anniversary but I guess it's not going to happen, but I guess I am pround of the weight that I have lost. It's been a real positive experience for me, The band really does work as long as you work with it. I walk for excercise, I have tried to do different exercizes but my back does not allow anything but walking. I have herniated discs in my lower back.

Tomorrow I am starting my last semester for my degree as a LPN (licenced practical nurse) I will graduate May, 2008. Then I will continue on for the RN degree. Iam so excited! 2008 is going to be great I am going to get to goal weight and become a nurse, it can't get any better than that!!

I just want to say you all look great on this site and have given me great inspiration to keep going to acheive my weight loss goals and I thank you all for that.

three months post op progress

May 20, 2007

Hi everyone,

Well It has been quit an experience, I still just can't believe how great this lapband works. It has been the best thing I have done for myself, and my family. So far I have been doing great I have only had one fill since Feb.2007. I will go for my second fill on May 22. I think it's time for a fill I can tell I am able to eat more, still way less  before the band. It's been great that people are noticing the weight loss now and asking me what I have been doing I just smile and say eating less and walking, there are lots of people that do not know I had the surgery, and we will keep it that way. Keep up the great work eveyone.

post op update

Feb 13, 2007

Hi everyone,
I am less than 24 hours post op, I'm feeling pretty good, other than a few gas bubbles, It really Is'nt too painfull. The surgery went great, no complications at all. I usually get real sick when I get put out but I let the anisteciologist now that ,and I guess he new what he had to do, he said he went with no narcotic drugs, so I guess that's the ticket,. I still can't believe It's over, the process seems so long, you feel like the day is never going to come, I'm real happy it did. I slept pretty good last night, I could sleep in my bed, the good thing is that my port is on the oposit side as the side I lay on. I'm taking some pain meds. they are going down just fine, It's even taking my back pain away that's probably the only reason I'm talking them is for my back, really the five incisions don't hurt all that much. I will report again.

Night before surgery

Feb 12, 2007

Well the day is almost here, It seemed like this day would never come. But I guess it is. Wow! I'm excited mixed with fear, I'm pretty sure that is a normal reaction. My way of eating will never be the same, but that's o.k. I would rather be healthier and happier. The past 10 day of being on the liquid diet I have come to realize that I feel so much better by not stuffing myself, I already feel better. I am ready for the weight loss journey................ I guess the next time I post I will be a banded lady....wooHoo!!
