Well, here I am on Dec 7, 2007; more than 5 yrs after my lap band surgery. Fortunately, I lost all of my weight (74lbs) in the first yr. UNFORTUNATELY, I had to have my band removed this past October! it was a very, very sad time for me. It has been difficult (to say the least) to loose my band! I have gained 10 lbs in 2 months! I am now scheduled for a vertical sleeve gastrectomy in Feb. I have learned, since my band removal, that many people have already gone through this exact situation and progressed just fine.  One has to wait the required 5 months (the least possible time) from band removal to VSG procedure. It's a very long wait! I'll let you all know how it goes!
