I have now lost a grand total of 33 lbs. I have lost the following inches
hips 7"
bust 3"
thigh 0"
waist 3"
arms 1/2"
I feel better and I have more energy that makes me want to work out. I am really having problems with the holiday eating and being offered way to many "bad" foods. Also I am under a lot of stress financially and at work and that is a really bad trigger. I have been attempting to focus the energy and bad stress into working out. I am going to start keeping a food diary until I can get over my hump of 250lbs, I have been at that weight for over a week now.
More later, it's bed time.

I am down 24lbs now. I went for my post op visit. The doc just checked my incision sites and told me to start my vitamins and increase to 2 protien shakes a day. I am now on some mushie food like scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes. I can tolerate a little grilled or broiled chicken if I chew really well. I tried a little desert yesterday and threw up for the first time!! How horrible that was! I don't know what possessed me to try it, but it won't be a mistake soon forgotten! I went to the WLS support group last night at Sacred Heart and I really enjoyed it! They talked about overeating and the holidays and I feel like I came back with a good game plan. I am increasing my walk and using 2lbs wieghts as of today since my weight loss has slowed a lot. Hopefully this will increase again! More later! kel

Thanks for all the supporting emails!!! All the prayer and postitive thoughts help so much! I am 1 week post-op and finally getting around much better. I am not as sore today and I can put on my socks without crying! For those of you going into surgery the sooner you get up and walk and push yourself the better you feel!! Take it from me! I have lost 20 lbs in 1 week and that is motivation enough to keep going. I can't drink while talking to someone or watching tv b/c I tend to not pay attention and overdo it. I have to stop and pay attention to the nutrients I am putting in my body instead of absently eating. I never realized how absent I have been for meals and snacks. This is an awesome journey!

I had my Lap Band surgery on 10/23/2007. I spent the night at Sacred Heart and then came home late Wed. afternoon. My mom has been staying with me. At first it hurt really bad to sit or lay or stand, now I am more comfortable. I still have one place where Dr. Lord said he had to stich the muscle that pulls really bad. I can sip about 3 Tablespoons full of liquid and then I feel full if I continue to sip I get nauseated, but this is getting better too. My advise is to have a really good rocking chair to sleep in once you go home. I made the mistake of laying on my bed the day after surgery and it really hurt me to get up from the bed even with help. I have already lost 8 lbs since Tuesday. More later, my loratab is kicking in and it's all a little fuzzy! Kel

My name is Kelley. I decided to have the LapBand surgery after my best friend TC had a wonderful experience with Dr. Lord out of Pensacola Fl. I went to Dr. Lord's seminar in 04/2007 (I was 5'5" and 263 lbs) I set up 6 visits with my regular physician (requirement by insurance 6 mnths weight loss trial documented). After 4 visits with my regular physician I called Dr. Lords office filled out paperwork and set up my first visit. At the first visit with Dr. Lord we went over my options. I was a perfect canidate for GB or LapBand. I decided on Lapband after my husband and I discussed the possibilities. Dr. Lord sent me to have lab work and an EKG, a visit with the dietician, and his instaff Psychologist. After he rcvd the results he set up my EGD. The EGD was easy, they set up an IV, give you some nasty stuff to gargle and then swallow to numb your throat, then you take a great nap. I slept off and on for the next day. Once my 6 months weight trial was up my reg physician sent my documentation to Dr. Lords office. Ruth walked me thru getting the insurance approval then she sent my file to Jan in scheduling. Jan called me this last Tuesday and set up my surgery for 10/23/07. My pre-op was yesterday with Mark at Dr. Lords office. He went over the surgery, gave me prescriptions for pain meds, meds to keep Gallstones from forming, pepcid, and told me for 3 days before surgery I am on clear liquids. I got my RX's filled got my stuff for protien shakes, and I go for Pre-admissions today. I will let you know how things go from here once it is over. Currently I am 5'5" and 183 lbs. This is just a synopsis of what happens. I was given a lot of paperwork explaining the proceedure/before and after care/foods I can and can not eat.
