It has been exactly 5 months today since my surgery. I have lost 85 pounds. I can not begin to stress how much better I feel. I never realize I had gotten so far out of control.
I am still having some frustration with eating. I sometimes still eat too fast or take too big a bite, but I am learning. I can not believe how much of a mental mind over stomach game this is. It has been hard work but it is SOOO worth it!!

Feb. 3 was my surgery. I went in at 7:am, my surgery was scheduled for 9:am. I think I went back to the operating room at 10 something. The last person I saw was a friend of mine from church. It was truely comforting to have her there holding my hand. When I went from recovery to my room, my family was there. I couldn't talk much, my mouth was very dry and I could not drink anything for 24 hours. I had to do a swallow test. Later the nurse brought in some citrus swabs that was very nice. My recovery was a blur really, I was up walking at 8:30 p.m. then again at 4 am. I was released early which was nice. The whole hospital staff, my doctor, my family and friends have been awesome. I feel very blessed to have such a good experiance.

I am almost 3 weeks out and feel great. I am learning and with the help of my mentor Robin, I feel like I am doing really well.

FINALLY! I was approved in Nov. for my surgery, I had pre-op on Dec. 5th, and was scheduled for surgery on Dec. 16th. It was discovered that I had a spot on my lung. I had to have more test and my surgery was post poned. Through the amazing power of prayer. My spot was not cancer. It will be monitored closely. I am not back on track to my surgery. I am scheduled to have it Feb. 3rd. I am nervous and excited. My son has told me tonight he is not real excited about the surgery but supports me. I have two wonderful children and an awesome husband. I won't be too excited until I hear "Count backwards from 10" Then I will know it is happening.

I have been approved by my insurance. I am scheduled for surgery on Dec. 16th! I am so excited and nervous. I have a wonderful mentor Robin. She has been so helpful to me.
