I have a Date!!!

1/8/07 - I got my surgery date today! I'm all set up for April 10th. I could have had it done a lot sooner but I wanted to be able to build up another week or so of time off @ work.
I was actually shocked when they weighed me in today.....I only gained 2/10ths of a pound over he holidays! Let me tell you...I ate everything that wasn't nailed down over the holidays. The cat wouldn't even come within arm's reach of me! I figured that it was going to be my last official holiday season fluffy so I ws going to enjoy it all. Boy did I.
The only issues I had with all of the testing was with my blood work. I was a little surprised. I have a vitamin A, vitamin D, and an iron deficiency. And my protien levels were realy low. Guess I can expect that to be a bt of a challenge after surgery huh?!?!? No biggie...I need a better vitamin, an iron suplement and have to pick up protien shakes prior to my date to boost me levels.

I finished up all of my testing today. Working midnights & not being able to eat because you've got blood work the next day really sucks. Especially when you don't get around to having the blood drawn til 12:30.
Now I get to play he waiting game. Hopefully I'll be able to get a follow up appointment pretty quickly so I can start the countdown til I get to become a loser finally. I also can't wait until after the surgery when the energy level starts to pick up.

12/15/06 - Okay....today did not suck.
I managed to get half of my tests done today. The chest x-ray, ekg and my Psych. Amazingly enough....I passed the psychological. I've heard a lot of people have this turn out to be their sticking point in the whole process. So I'm either more balanced than previously though (lol) or I caught the Doc dipping into his meds.....either way, I got approved so yay me or go prozac!
I had to laugh & feel kinda bad for the poor woman who did the 2 1/2 hr prelim exam though...lolol. I think I almost gave the poor thing a stroke a time or two. Stress???? My Job???? Nah........
Now next week I get to finish my last three tests and hopefully get a date for sometime in the spring.

12/5/06 - Well I'm approved. It only took 5 days - I'm amazed. I keep expecting another shoe to drop somewhere and someone tell me that I'm delusional and this isn't going to happen.
Now for the testing. So far that's good news & better news. Good news is that I work midnights so I can schedule everything and not have to worry about taking time out of work. Better news is that I'd already had a stress test and a sleep test so Dr. Roye said that I didn't need to repeat them. Those two seem to be the tests that take the most time to complete.
According to the paperwork I have, I only need to 7 out of the 13 tests. 3 of those are scheduled on the same day...wohoo!!!
So now the fun begins :)
