Stones in Gaul Bladder

Jun 30, 2008

Today I had my Gaul Bladder ultra sound.  The tech. said I had a bunch of gaul stones so they will probably want to remove my gaul bladder, which is fine with me.  I've had problems with it for the past 12+ years.  I need to get really serious about loosing the rest of my weight because tomarrow is July 1st and I only have 17 days until weigh in time for Health Partners!  God, please help me be strong and not give in or give up!!

Surgery Date - Thursday, July 23rd, 2008

Jun 28, 2008

My husband and I met Dr. Jeffery Baker on Thursday.  He was really nice and was able to answer some of my concerns.  I will be having an ultra sound on my gaul bladder on Monday, June 30th to see if it needs to come out.  I have had some symptoms and history of problems that would make this an opption for me.  We also went to the informational meeting prior to visiting with Dr. Baker.  I'm really glad that my husband went with so he could get all of his concerns answered and also learn about all what needs to be done.

So with my surgery date only 3 1/2 weeks away, I feel like I need to spring clean my house and get organized, especially with our friends from Texas coming for a week the week before my surgery.  I was laughing to myself this morning...it almost feels like I'm "nesting".

Meet the surgeon

May 30, 2008

I rescheduled my meetings with Dr. Jeffery Baker and the nursing staff.  The new date is June 26th and my husband is going to go with me.  I'm glad because I think he will feel better after talking with the surgeon and I will feel better knowing that he (along with me) will know what to expect after surgury.  It feels like it's been a long road but I know that this is only the beginning!

Heard from Unity today!

May 29, 2008

Darla at Unity got back to me today.  She has recieved all of my paperwork and has transferred everything to Dr. Jeffery Baker's office.  Shortly after I talked with her, Christie from Dr. Baker's office called me to set up a date for my training with the nurse and my first meeting with Dr. Baker.  The date we chose was June 17th but since that is my husband's first day of classes at Northwestern Bible College, I will have to call them to reschedule.

Did someone say SLEEP test?

May 27, 2008

I took a sleep test last Friday night.  Let's say non-sleep test, because I only fell asleep twice and each time a nurse work me up!  I only got about an hour total in all night long.  I hope I never have to do that again.  Someone will call me in the next couple of weeks to set up an appointment to discuss the test with me.  Untill then I am still waiting to meet with the surgeon to schedule a date for surgery.  It's hard to believe I started this journey 5 months ago.  The next 5 months should be exciting!

Passed!

May 14, 2008

I got a green light from my phsyichologist as I was finally able to passed my phsyic test but now I'm told that I have a mild form of sleep apnea.  So I'm waiting to hear from the sleep people to make an appointment for a sleep test.  Just one more thing to get out of the way!

So Close Yet So Far Away!

May 09, 2008

I'm just waiting on a final test results from my psychologist.  She said that from our conversations over the past two months, she doesn't see any reason why I should not move forward with surgery.  We just need a valid test.  So far I have taken 3 tests and the first two came back invaild, so I've taken a different test yesterday.  I hope and pray that this one will be valid.  I'm so excited and anxious to move forward.

I went to my first Images support group.  I liked it.  Got some good information.  I will be talking to my doctor about the possibility of removing my galblader at the same time as my stomach surgery.  I've had problems with my galblader for over 12 years.  I didn't know what it was that was making me so sick after eating certain foods.  I just thought that because my Mom has the same condition that it was something I was going to have to live with.  I can remember my Grandmother being in the hospital with gal-stones.  So I need to discuss this with my surgeon and see what he thinks I should do.
