Any kind of cottage cheese should be fine. They all have the same amount of protein regardless of it's large curd, small curd, 2%, fat free or full fat. Early on, fat content isn't important, but as you get further out and are able to eat more, and calories add up, you might want to use the fat free or low fat varieties. That habit might be easier to develop earlier rather than later. Cottage cheese is an excellent choice for protein. Find a brand or type you like, and stick with that!
