I am down to 263.5!! Started at 378.6 prior to surgery and got down to 300 pre-surgery. Feeling much better, had a few un-surgery related complications but am on the mend. Need clothes. going shopping after Christmas to take advantage of sales!

I went to the grocery store yesterday to get my crystal light ice cups. These are wonderful, by the way! But, I was looking around as I was standing in line and noticed what was in everyone's cart. Is it no wonder we have an obesity problem in this country. The produce dept keeps getting smaller and more expensive and the bad for you dept gets bigger and, unfortunately, less expensive. Maybe it just isn't an obesity problem, some of the folks were very thin. Maybe we should label it a nutrition problem. Do you think more folks would listen and it wouldn't be so disccriminatory against the overweight.

I don't have to start liquids until Oct 10 but am tring to do 50% liquids leading up to that time...hoping it will make it easier.
This will be my first time in a hospital and the anxiety is killing me. Just want the hospital stay to be over and done with. Work has been wonderful up to the point of me taking time off, now I may not have a job when I get back. Still going through with the surgery, my health is more important than that job. it's just very frustrating to have your bosses support all along and then have them change their tune over night. Not helping with the anxiety!

Well, my paperwork is finally off to the insurance company for pre-authorization!
I've been working really hard to lose before the surgery. Started at 378 last year and am down to 305. I've noticed in the before and after pictures that no none has extra skin around their face. How do you get rid of the the double chin, mine is starting to look like a turkey gullet.

Everything is sitting at the surgeon's office but they only have one person that reviews the info so  nothing has been turned into insurance for their approval. My insurance company said they will take a max of 5 days for approval but the surgeon's office has had the info for that long already and said it probably won't be submitted to ins until fri, 9/24!!! I was so hoping for an Oct surgery date because my family won't be here in Nov. It's soooo frustrating, the dietician, surgeon, psychologist all say to have the support of family but it doesn't seem like anyone is willing to work with you to achieve that. Getting frustrated, but not eating, venting is better!

I am new. I am going to PCP tomorrow, the last thing I need for everythign to be submitted to insurance for gastric bypass surgery. I have already started a semi-liquid diet and am doing very well. Started dieting June of last year (2009) at 378.6 lbs and am down to 306. Surgeon wants me at 300 prior to surgery...no problem! I am committed!
