OK I really don't like to talk about my self but here goes.
I am 45 years old, Married to a great man for 24 years now. We have 2 sons Christopher age 21 he's currently serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Nimitz and My baby Kyle age 20. Still at home trying to make me so much older before my time.
Like so many others on this site I have been over weight most of my life. I have been thinking of getting this surgery done for many years but never thought I could get the insurance company to approve it!
In the summer of 2005 I contracted Necrotizing Faciitis( Flesh eating bacteria) and nearly died! I was in a coma for 3 weeks and hospitalized for 3 months( nearly loosing my leg in the process ) I had many complications due to my weight and my wonderful surgeon suggested weight loss surgery. I told him that I had considered it but did not think that my insurance would pay. He picked up the phone and called them and they said they did cover it!!
Wow what a surprise when the approval went right through!
And so my Journey began!
