5 Months

Dec 12, 2006

As of Dec. 21st I will be 5 months out.  I can eat just about anything I want and have had 1 dumping episode.  I ate some M&M's and it was an awful experience.  One I will remeber everytime I see something surgary.  I am down a total of 72.5 lbs and of course I wish it was more.  i had hope to have lost at least 100lbs by now.  i am grateful tohave lost this much.  I have also noticed small changes in my clothes.  i have dropped down a size in just about everything, including my shoes.  I have bought a few pair of pants and some shirts and interchage them alot.  I'm happy and healthier.

November 4, 2006 Well everything so far is A-OK. No complications, no problems eating, and I had a Reese's peanut butter cup (not the miniature size either) and did not dump. I know I should'nt have eaten it but I had a craving. Now I know I have to watch it with the sweets, but so far it has been OK. I teach and at school it is hard beacuse at every faculty meeting there's a basket of crackers and chocolate right in the middle of every table, and of course our monthly celebrations with all kinds of food, and then the baby showers so temptation is all around me. I never realized how much teachers eat at meetings until now. So far I have done well by making sure I bring my own snack and stick to fruits and veggies, and occasionally a cracker and cheese. My weight loss is still knida slow. As of today I am down a total of 54 lbs. I had my 3 month check up last week and Dr. Byrne said it was slow, but I could catch up and the dietician looked over my eating habits and said to try and get more fruits and veggies in daily but other than that i have been following the plan. I get up a 5 a.m. 3 days a week to exercise before going to work. I acutally enjoy it. I start my day off energized. I stopped stressing about the weight loss and just Praise GOD it's coming off. I found out that MUSC Options insurance (my insurance) will no longer cover the surgery as of Jan. 1, 2007. I'm blessed to have done this this year and I pray for those wanting it that they find a way to get it done. It definitely has not been an easy journey. You really do have to change your relationship with food. It has been more of a mental battle than a physical one. So please keep me in pprayer as I continue on this weight loss journey
