I had 6cc of saline put in my band during surgery, 1.5cc six weeks post op, 1.0cc 8weks post op and at 9 weeks had another 1.0 cc for a total of 9.5cc. I now have restriction. I know this because I am no longer hungry between meals. I am eating between 800 and 1000 calories per day and the scale is going down again. I have lost 27 pounds since surgery and I am soooo happy with my journey so far. No problems at all. As a matter of fact I can eat anything without a problem but now I can choose not to. I eat my protein and veggies and I am satisfied for 4-5 hours. No longer thinking of what to have at my next meal. I am so thankful that I chose a great surgeon and the OH forum is a wonderful source of information and support.

Hi Just and update to my own story. Had my surgery on 3/15/07. had to stay overnight-insurance requirement. Very little discomfort. Did a lot of walking in hospital and again when home. Now 5 days postop and I feel great!!! I followed my surgeon's instructions and had only water, tea, diet snaple and crystal light for the first four days. I am nowenjoying a protein shake. I can have 3 per day for the next two weeks along with the previous mentioned beverages. Nothing else. No broth etc. Oh well It's all good I am losing already and I am not hungry! I love it!
I highly recommend Tri-State Bariatrics. The program is the best. Check out their website. Their main office is in Port Jervis, NY. They also have offices in Middletown,NY and Poughkeepsie, NY. My surgery was done at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. Soon Tri-State Bariaitrics will be opening their own unit in Bon Secours. My hopital experience was absolutely excellent. Staff is understanding, well informed and very compassionate.
