Surgery performed on 09/07, all is well just sore as hell...Doc said I made him work though, have a thick abdominal wall said his hands hurt from trying to get staple through or something..released from hospital on 9th....I was a "bear" in the hospital, I think nurses were happy to see me leave!  Too many iv tubes and monitor leads to deal with, couldn't move!  They all came off in middle of the night!!... lol    getting up and about as much as possible as much as it hurts and trying to keep grandkids from jumping on me.. 

Surgery was scheduled for August 17.  I was in pre-op, ready to rock and roll, (Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, CT) waiting to be wheeled to OR, gastric bypass.  I had an unexplained rash that had developed a couple days before that the pre-op nurse made note of.   Doc came in and took a look..."his words were "son of a - - - -". After he went somewhere to think about it, he came back  with his decision to postpone.  I laid there in shock and said "this sucks".  He reassured me that as soon as we get this resolved we will pick up where we left off in a timely manner.  He was as upset as I was but he did make the right decision.  He is the best surgeon one could ask for.    Went to a dermatologist, waiting for some test results including biopsy but he said he doesn't think it is something that should prevent surgery but has to make sure.   Will post new surgery date as soon as it is known

....08/26/2010.....UPDATE!!!... New surgery date set for Sept. 7th....Lets "GET ER DONE!"
