7 weeks after surgery

Well I did it!! I'm so happy I had this surgery done! Everything went great!
I was up and walking the halls of the hospital about 5 hours after the procedure. I was a little uncomfortable with the drain tube when I went home, but I did okay. Couldn't wait to get it out. I had a visiting nurse that came to my home and checked on me and then took out the drain about a week after surgery.
I have had a little trouble getting used to sipping my liquids rather than gulping them down. Other than that, I think I done pretty well.
I'm now 7 weeks out and down 40lbs. I feel great! I need to excersise a little more like do some walking.
I started the protein shake and hated them. So I've since found a new low carb protein shake at Smoothie King, and I love it!! I like the taste of theirs.
I'll get some new pictures uploaded on here soon. I just put the one on here today from the morning of my surgery,,

Well, I have 2 days until my surgery!! I'm so excited, scared, nervous and anxious all at the same time! I'm ready for it though. It's been a long time coming. I have to start my all liquid diet today, I don't think it will be all that bad. I'm just thinking about how good it will feel in the next few months to have some of this weight off. I will let you know how things go in a few days!

IVC filter

Well I had my IVC filter done today...everything went well..just a little sore in the back from lying flat on my back for 2 hours....but I feel fine and looking forward to having the RNY surgery on Oct. 30th. I have also received clearance from all my doctors so I'm ready to go!!!

I have already been approved by my insurance carrier after 6 months of supervised weight loss attempts required and all paperwork needed by my insurance. I now have all my pre-op doctors visits scheduled.
I went to meet with my vascular surgeon yesterday. I have to have a filter put in due to previous blood clots. I had a blood clot in my leg that broke off and went to my lungs after having surgery in 2004. So this is a precaution my doctor wants and myself before surgery. I'm scheduled to have the filter put in on Oct. 9, 2007. This is done by outpatient surgery and the filter will stay in forever.
I go for my other clearance visits the first week in October. I don't see my having any problems with those visits. I will keep this up to date and let you know through my profile how things are going.
