4/22/2009 Losing Weight Again

Apr 22, 2009

Ok, I am back on track.  I have joined a gym and have gone almost everyday (except for Sunday and today).  I have lost 4 pounds since Saturday.  I now have total weight loss of 45 lbs.  I am pretty much eating just protein.  I am almost completely off carbs.  I still have a few since I am working out.

My goal is to be 100lbs down by September.  My wedding anniversary is September 30 and I would like to go somewhere tropical and celebrate 8 years of marriage and 100 lbs lost.  I figured that if I lose 5 lbs every two weeks then I will reach my goal.

I need to lose 55 lbs by September to do that.

Back in the saddle,
Brooke

01/19/09 . . . I am Back

Jan 19, 2009

Well, it has been a while since I have posted.  I think I am at fill #4 and I go back to the doctor next week.  I am at a total of 46 pounds lost.  I am wearing an 18/20.  I know I should be happy with this but I am not.  I will say it has been harder to lose the last 10 pounds then it was to lose the first 30.

I got a Wii for Christmas so I have been doing the Wii Fit at least 3 times per week.  I need to do the Wii and walk on my treadmill.  Clothes are fitting better and I am getting into items that I have not worn since the Fall of 2006 which is pretty awesome.  I am 1 pound away from where I was at when I got prenant.  That only took 15 months to lose.

My brother is getting married in March so I am really pushing to lose as much as possible in the next month or so.  And my family wants to do pictures in May so I would love to be in a size 12/14 by then.  Hoping.

I hope everyone has been doing well.  Talk to you soon.

10/30/08 . . . Fill #2

Oct 30, 2008

Well, I had my 2nd fill today.  It again was not bad at all.

I have gone from morbid obesity to severe obesity.  I have dropped 5.94 bmi points.  I would say that is really good.  Tuesday was my 3 month anniversary since I had lap band.

Clothes are fitting better and better.  People at work are really starting to notice which is really nice.

I can not wait for tomorrow - - Halloween.  Not because I am going to eat candy but because my little girl looks so cute in her Halloween outfit.  She is going to be Minnie Mouse.

I hope all of my OH friends are doing well.

Talk to you soon!

10/18/2008 . . . I Feel GREAT

Oct 18, 2008

Well, I got on the scale this morning am I am at 41 lbs down.  I can onot believe it. 41 lbs.  I feel really good.  My skinny pants have now become almost too big.  I went shopping this last weekend and it was a BLAST.  I have dropped 2 dresses sizes in shirts and 3 in pants.  I actually have clothes now that are TOO big.

I also started Weight Watchers 1.5 weeks ago.  It is really helping me to figure out and see what is all going in my mouth.  It is all GREAT.

Well, I have got to go.
Hopefully the next time I write I will be at 50 lbs down.  My goal is to be in a 14/16 by Christmas.  Wow, I don't remember the last time I was that size.

09/18/08 . . . Almost a month has gone by

Sep 18, 2008

It has been a while since I have posted.  Time to catch up.  I have had my first fill and I have lost a total of 29.5 lbs in 7.5 weeks.  I would say that is pretty good.  I don't remember the last time that I lost almost 30 lbs.

My clothes are all just hanging on me.  I do not even have to unzip my pants or skirts.  They just slide on and off.  Some are sagging so bad that they are about to fall off.  My shirts are starting to get that hang look.

I sat down last night and comfortably crossed my legs.  I don't remember the last time I was able to do that.  It is GREAT.

My first fill was a breeze.  I was so scared that it was going to hurt but all I felt was the numbing medicine and that is it.  My dr. put in 1 cc.  I can tell a different.  I am definitely feeling full faster and longer.  When I am stressed I still get hungry but I try to curb that or eat something healthy.

I am still trying to get into a workout phase.  I do it for a couple of weeks and then something happens and I get off track.  I know I have got to make myself no matter what.  My dr wants me to go to a physical therapist who speacializes in exercises after weightloss surgery.

I hope all of you are doing great.  I hope the next time I write I will be close to 35 and then 40.

Talk to you soon,
Brooke

08/24/08 . . . Feeling Pretty Good

Aug 24, 2008

Well, I got on the scales this morning and I am down another 2 lbs.  This make 27 lbs weight loss only 106 more to go.  I am feeling pretty good in many areas.  I think I am almost 100% after 4 weeks of surgery.  My clothes are fitting much looser.  I even put on a shirt today that I could not even dare to wear 4 weeks ago and today it was a little big.

I went to church this morning and I had a ton of compliments.  I sing in one of the worship teams and when I got on the platform someone told me that they leaned over to their husband and said, "Wow, she looks amazing."  I know I am not skinny by any means but I feel so much better about myself.  I sometimes I have to realize that I am not 120 lbs.  I am still in the 200's.  One day and I won't be.

It is still nice to know that people can see a difference.  I was looking at a picture taken of my daughter and me about 7 weeks ago and I could barely recognize myself.  I looked awful.  It is sobering to see but I will NEVER allow myself to go back there.

Well, I hope eveyone is doing well.  I will check back later this week.

Sincerely,
Brooke

08/16/08 . . . Down Just One

Aug 16, 2008

Well, this week has been a little weird.  On Sunday I was at 277.5 and then on Tuesday I was at 279.5.  I am not sure how I gained 2 lbs.  I did not do anything different.  Then I got on the scales on Friday and I was at 276.5.  This is a roller coaster.  I know that I am not eating like I used to.  I am stopping when I feel the first full pain or at least the second.  I am finding that if I don't start at the first then I feel sick.  I have not thrown up - - I just get nauseas.

I think I am going to try W****t W******s.  That to me is the most well rounded.  I have all but one of my books from before.  Unfortunately, that one book is the most important.  I am going to try to keep my points around 25  a day and I will go from there.

I do have to admit that I am about to finish my first week of mushy food, but I have already done a little bit more than mushy.  I just make sure that I chew really really really good.  Maybe that is why I gained 2 and then lost 3.  I was told at my drs. office that when I started regular foods again that I might gain.

I have to say that I enjoy hearing from all of you  and truly cherich the experience that we are all having.  I guess 21.5 lbs in 4.5 weeks is pretty good.  That is approx 5 lbs a week (again most of that was lost in the first 2 week pre-op//6 pounds in 2.5 weeks).

Well I am going to go for now.

08/11/08 . . . My First 20 Pounds

Aug 11, 2008

I got on the scales yesterday morning and I have now lost 20 lbs.  I was so excited.  This is my first 20 lbs.  I only have 6 more 20 lbs to go.

How is everyone doing?  I started mushy foods on Friday night.  I was okay until Saturday evening and then my stomach started really hurting.  I did not throw up - - I just did not feel good.

Do any of you just sort of ache where your port is?  I almost have to sit up really straight so that I do not put any pressure on it.

My goal is to lose a total of 40 lbs by the middle of September ( I have my 10 year reunion Sept. 12 and 13).  I also have my eye on a really pretty black dress.  I am hoping to look good in it by then.

Talk to ya'll later.

08/07/08 I just Posted a new picture of ME

Aug 07, 2008

I saw my sister for the first time in 5 days.  She just starred at me.  I asked her what and she said you look completely different.  Your face is so different.  I had no clue what she was talking about.  It is the same face I have been looking at everyday.  So when I got home I mentioned it to my husband and he said your face is different.  So I had to take a picture of myself to see.  Compare the one from today versus 1.5 weeks ago and the one that I am holding my daughter.  I can not believe it.  Even though I have only lost 18 lbs - - I do look different and I think I feel different.

I am going to go for now - - I am starting to feel worn out.

Talk to you soon.

08/04/08 . . . 18 lbs. and counting . . . 1 Week Post-op

Aug 04, 2008

I hit 280 yesterday.  I have lost a total of 18 lbs.  I have almost dropped 3 pts. on my BMI.  I am now 1 week post op.  I actually returned to work today (for half a day).  I wanted to let everyone know that I appreciate your messages.  It is nice to know that I am not out here by myself.

I a still a little sore and my left shoulder really starts to hurt if I do too much.  I am going to try and start walking tonight.  I am trying to walk 4-5 times per week.  I know I can't get on the treadmill yet so everything that I do will be outside.

For those who have had Lap Band - - are you finding it hard to eat what you need to eat - - I am probably not getting more than 500-700 calories.  I am even forcing myself to eat every 2-3 hours.  Also, how do you get all the water in if you can drink 30 minutes before you and and 30-60 minutes after you eat.

Talk to you soon.
