Hi everyone, mine is a pretty common story, average weight until I had children then started the weight loss roller coaster. I am 48 and have been overweight most of my adult life, with short periods of diet induced slimness, which lasted as long as I didn't eat! I have been trying to have this surgery for about 5 years and have been unsuccessful due to an insurance company (PEHP) that is still living in the dark ages. The medical director claims that maybe by next plan year they will start covering it, but since I have been told that before, I am not holding my breath. I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Steven Simper on Dec 12, 2008.
