"Dr. Spaulding and her staff are very knowledgeable, understanding, caring and compassionate. Dr. Spaulding let me know that my being overweight was not from laziness or other thoughts that I had streaming through my head but that it was a disease. She explained how this was not a quick fix, but a tool to assist you in your weight control. She informed me that I could abuse it. She also let me know right up front the risks of this surgery. I feel very blessed to have Dr. Spaulding operating on me. I would recommend her to anyone looking to have this surgery. She firmly believes in attending support groups and totally stressed the importance of follow-up after surgery. Update 3-21-01 I had my check up yesterday, and I wanted to add that I feel that Dr. Spaulding has a true genuine concern for each one of her patients, which made me feel REALLY SPECIAL. I feel as if I have finally found a doctor who not only understands my weight problems, but also cares!! "
