March 25, 2009 update
Mar 25, 2009
Just to give you an update- my journey has been fantastic!
I said I would upload pics when I officially get to the 6 month date which is approaching fast. I am so happy I did this- this experience has changed my life.
I am more livelier and more active.
People give me compliments all the time. Men are noticing more which is an added plus in itself.
To God be the glory.

November 19, 2008- 7 days post-op
Nov 19, 2008
Well I made it through 7 days with little pain.
I am very thankful to God above. However last Friday the day after surgery Dr. Enochs arrived about 7:30pm and about 5 minutes before that I received news about the death of one of my best friends.
My friend Robin was a young 38 year old and died they think of a heart attack. She was going to come and stay with me for a few days this week as I recooped. I was so emotional and Dr. Enochs was very very sympathetic and consoling. I have to applaud Dr. Enoch's for his skill and sensitivity. He was able to do the surgery laparscopic but there was a chance that the surgery would be done open. Thank God he was able to proceed in a less evasive rotuine. After surgery that night I had absolutely no pain but when I felt a twitch I push the pain button. Those drugs must be miracle workers! As I recoop at home I have little pain and I don't take the pain med often.
Thanks to this forum I was more relaxed although why didn't anybody tell me about the "Central Line"? I had no veins to give because of no liquid on board and being a hard stick. A Central Line-yikes take deep breathes the anethesiologist claim it is very common.

I am so excited but nervous. To top it off my period came on this morning. I was so hoping not to be on my cycle for the surgery- but oh well life continues. How to become a LOSER soon.
October 28, 2008- 1 week before surgery

I will be getting RNY Gastric By-pass in about 1 week. If anyone has some advance or words of encouragement I would most appreciate it. I want to know how to overcome this nervousness knowing that you are about to have surgery. I am going to do it and I pray for the best outcome.
