"I met Dr. Frantzides at a seminar for laparoscopic surgery. He came across as professional, knowledgeable and approachable. He discussed the options for gastric bypass surgery. He was very thorough and took great care in answering any and all questions. Prior to the seminar, I had already made an apppointment to meet him, but after attending his seminar, our meeting seemed a done deal. I met with him after being weighed (I was 456 lbs...meaning I'd gained 50 lbs in a year) and found out my Body Mass Index (BMI) was 64. Dr. Frantzides is a 'no-nonsense' physician. He made sure I was completely informed on all the positive and (possible) negative effects of the surgery. I had (and still have) COMPLETE faith in Dr. Frantzides abilities as a surgeon and compassion as a human being. The day of the surgery, I met with him prior and he again reassured me of the procedure and that, although my BMI was 64, he would still perform the surgery Laparoscopically. After the surgery, I awoke to find that I had 6 small incisions instead of being opened up. Within 2 hrs I was up and walking and each day it has gotten better. Now, here it is a week after my surgery and I've been up and walking, no infections and my body is healing more and more each day. At my weigh in, I have lost 20 lbs in one week!
This surgery was the BEST decision I could have ever made and Dr. Frantzides is the main reason it is the BEST decision, for he is THE best! I would rate Dr. Frantzides as high as I can because I feel comfortable and confident in him. Everything he said has come to pass and he didn't sugar coat anything. I frankly was amazed that he was able to do the surgery Laparoscopically, but that just attests to his skill. He and his staff has been helpful and supportive and I've never felt 'alone', they are there with me on all the journeys that this surgery and new phase of my life is taking me.
