I wonder how many other WLS people are in their fifties

Dec 15, 2007

I am 52 this is now day 3 post op and better today.  We are moving to the country were we bought 10 aches of land next to state land with hours of great riding, A 20 year dream come true. Make me almost teary to write it. I am not too sure very many people in their 50's have this surgery. I wish it was around when I was younger or maybe it was and I woundn't have even consider spending that kind of money on WLS. Especially when I was to busy beating myself up for being over weight. I was not in the criteria for my insurance to cover the surgery because I am healthy other wise thank God for health. So I bite the bullet with my families blessing and took the plunge.
I am hoping to get some feedback as I have never posted or bloged or what ever this is called and it is a great way to reach out. HOPING PEOPLE WILL REACH BACK.
We moved most of the house today with friends help and I supervised and that was new for me some guilt but oh well.  I am excited about our new adventure in the country and excited about starting a new life for me.

My son was injured in Iraq and is in Fort Drum waiting for surgery on his legs I pray that happens quickly so he can feel better soon. I finally told him about my surgery and he was so supportive. I was a little surprised I thought he would say come on mom you can do this. But he said great you are helping yourself. What a great guy.
My other son turns 18 tommorrow and he is being helpfull as well. Ok he did the wash and folded it with out my asking. It could make a mother faint.
I had a can of v8 juice today and it seemed ok something other than broth and water. I drank it very slowly and so far so good.
Well that's all for now . I will post a pic when I can figure out how to do that. Not so great with that stuff.
Any Christmas suggests for new post-op lap bands.
Ta Ta  for now

I had my lap band surgery yesterday.  12/12/07I self paid. Alot of money but I need to change my life. I had so many feelings of excitement, shame at not being able to do this on my own. Fear of what if it doesn't work. You know all that stuff. I am uncomfortable but not bad. I am walking and drinking water.
Tommorrow will be better.
