My story, hmmm how to keep this from becoming a Lifetime movie of the week... My story begins in a town in central California and well it continues in that same town... I had a rough start from the start, I was born with Asthma and lots of allergies and was quite ill early on. I began to gain a lot of weight as a 4 and 5 year old, I missed a lot of school and a lot of fun as a child, it seems I was always ill with one problem or another. I was usually the biggest kid in school, I was always very tall and very heavy. I suffered several illnesses during high school and was home schooled for a while as a result. All of that poor health helped me pack on a lot of weight. When I was around 18-19 I decided to lose weight for college. I was able to lose 180# on my own with diet and exercise. I worked very hard at it, unfortunately my dieting was not the best and I was unable to maintain the weight loss. I also got married around that time and, sad to say my husband was very critical and not very supportive, making a perfect storm for me to regain the weight lost. I regained all of the weight and then some over the next 20 years or so. My husband subsequently left me blaming my weight problem and not his girlfriend for the failed marriage... I went through some dark days, but I always had hope and faith in a brighter tomorrow. God has never let me down and now I have an opportunity for a new beginning. I chose WLS to help me start a new life. I want to be healthy and I want to do all those things that I didn't get to do as a sick kid. I am confident in a better tomorrow and Woo Hoo I am going to see one!
