BLOVE
First let me introduce myself. My name is Bertha Love and my husband is Bill. We live in central California. Both of us have been overweight all of our lives. My husband is scheduled for surgery on July 10, 2007. My insurance wants me to go to an approve hospital. I have found one and I have an appointment with a new doctor next week. So now it is a waiting game. I did find out that all of my previous appointments will be find with the new doctor but it just takes time.
I have been overweight all my life. Even in grammer school I was shy but I wasn't really picked on to much but ignored would be a more appropriate word. I was always tall for my age. I was 5'8" in the sixth grade and for a girl that was and is tall. So I could carry more weight than most girls. It didn't help to much except PE then everyone wanted me because I was stronger than most. My weight was 160 lbs in the fifth grade and I haven't seen it below that since. My weight now is 265 lbs and I am still 5"8". Most of the gain was during 3 pregs. I have tried most diets on the market and thru doctors. I even tried Phen-Phen and shots. But had to quit like everyone else did.
Now that I am a grandmother and older I would like to take the advantage and become more healthier. I pre-diabetic, high blood pressure, gerds and high cholesterol plus I have gallstones. So this surgery would be a good thing.
I am hoping to have this surgery sometime this summer. I will keep this updated to let everyone know.
5/25/07: Got my approval and also set up surgery date. 6/27/07 is the first day of the rest of my life. Or more like a new birthday (I am told). Now it is the waiting.
