Ok, I know - why is he posting SOOO late after the conference. The truth - lazy. Thats all. Well as some know there was the RYD Conference the first weekend of May in Dallas. I must say - it was awesome!! I had the honor to be able to speak on Saturday. I spoke on the importance of support groups. I hope that those that were there enjoyed and learned something from my speech. It was such a good weekend. I was also in charge of the clothing exchange. That was great also. We had 9 banquet table stacked full of clothes. We ended up giving a car full of clothes - no rather a Ford Tauras station wagon full - to a local shelter. It was so good to se folks coming out of there wih handfulls of clothes.....

I hope to see yall at the next one. And I will need help with the clothing exchange again.....

Ok everyone, time to posy.... last night I went to a get together with many other WLS folks. There were people 4 months to 4+ years post op. I can tell you, I had a BLAST!!! But....I did feal a little uncomfortable. Not from folks, just me. I am not used to the positive comments and attention. Being morbidly obese all my life, I was used to the negative stuff. This blew me away last nite! I am not a dancer, so that did not help out much. But I must say, it was weird to have people ask me to dance!!! I hope I hurt no one by saying no, but I'm just not ready yet....

I will say this - the hard outer shell that I have has been cracked, not broken but cracked. Soon I will be able to fit in and have a blast, not fealing weird......

Hey there everyone. I know I have not been on here or posted on the forums for awhile. All is good. Down from 422 to 268. Cant be happier. Life is good. I can say that I have learned that cooking after WLS SUX!!!! It is so hard to cook knowing I will only eat so little.
I kinda got off the wagon. Not overeating, but just not eating the right stuff. I have stopped and will be doing a hard core protien shake thingie the next couple few weeks. Need to start the loosing again. the plateau is getting OLD.

OK. I must admit, it is great being down 138lbs, but this Christmas sucks! I am recently divorced, a mutual thing, and it is hard to be alone. I sit back and realize how better things will be for the both of us, but it is still hard as hell. Its hard to admit I am one of the statistics of a failed marriage. I do know it is for the better.

Now - I will also miss the big plate of prime rib, mashed taters, squase, etc...... But I would never take back the change I did in my life. I thank God everyday for giving my Dr the ability to do the surgery.

Well today is September 3 2007.  I have reached the century mark today - down 100.5 lbs!!!  I am so happy.  I am a little over 3 months post opt and love me new life.  I have posted some new pics - check them out.
