"When I first met Dr. Monk, I expected the best. He is very professional, not much of a joker. I am not much of a joker either, but I think I needed a little laughter to make this experience go smoothly. I am still impressed with his experience, but wish he made me feel like an individual. He does set realist expectations and tries to answer questions before he's asked. His staff has been great. They acutally return calls. I haven't spent any extended period of time in his office waiting. In fact, I arrived approximately 20 min early once and was seen right away. At this early point, I would refer him because he is one of the best in the area and his office appears very organized. They have this whole procedure from the consults to follow-up down. I have even been given information on follow-up care, even though I don't have a date yet.
3/24/05 I just wanted to add that day of my surgery, Dr. Monk was great. I felt like I saw another side of him. He Joked! I was surprised. It made me feel that much more comfortable with my decision. He was great. I would still recommend him. Sue, his nurse is very busy, yet she still returns calls. Although the calls seem hurried, she does answer all questions (if you have them ready, because she doesn't give you a chance to think of them). Overall, this has been a pleasant experience."
