I'm 63 years old and here I am, 58 years after my first diet (age 5), still trying to lose weight. Approximately 100 pounds overweight, I've made the decision to explore the possibility of bariatric surgery. My insurance won't cover it, so I'm looking at it as if I'm buying a new car, which, basically I am, as my body is the vehicle that drives 'me' around the planet. I'm grateful to have found obesityhelp.com, as I've learned so much by reading other peoples successes and mistakes. My 'free information seminar' for gastric bypass is scheduled for next Tuesday (May 23). I'm looking forward to seeing what lies ahead! I don't have any pictures of myself to post right now, but plan to post some soon. Becky So it's almost a year later since this last post above. I'm now 64. I'm waiting to turn 65 in June as Medicare will cover the surgery and follow up. I'm hoping to have the surgery done in September. My surgeon okayed the delay, so all I'll need to do once medicare kicks in is get my colonoscopy and psych evaluation. Otherwise I'll be good to go. I'm starting now to impliment some of the tools for post op - like chewing more slowly, not drinking with meals, stopping before I'm 'full', thinking about head hunger versus physical hunger and eliminating some of the foods that will be off the list of things to eat post op. Only a little over five months to go. Becky
