i am feeling great.  my blood pressure was awesome 116/81,  my sugar test was 87 compare to 102 what i use to get and i weighed  289..wooo hoo ..still eating soups and very mushy thing ..CHEW CHEW CHEW!! i will keep u all posted!!  BTW  i posted my one month after pics... woo hoo ... oh also from size 28 pants down to 24 pants and blouses 26/28 to 22/24.  wearing my clothing i use to wear when i worked at Lane Bryant.woo hoo   I GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!

Bariatric Surgery

I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 am, was a bit scared but did not show it because my son was having it too. I was being strong. Once alone in the waiting room i became a bit nervous and scared. I was taken in to the operating room at 7:30 am and from there i did not know what happened. I was taken to the recovery room by 10:30 am, by 11:30 am i was in my room half alseep. Nurses kept coming in and taking my vitals (not letting me rest). At 3:30 pm a nurse came in and had me walking for 10 minutes. It went well but i was still groggie. I waited for my son to arrive from his surgery, finally came to his room at 4:30 and i was more at ease knowing he came out ok and that he was in the next room from me. at 8 pm the nurse walked in and made me walk for 15 minutes. I was on pain killers so i felt no pain. Tried to go to sleep at 10:30 pm but no dice, nuses kept coming in and checking on me. 12/21/2009   Day 2 bariatric surgery   Nurses came to my room every 2 hours, i ended up getting up at 6 am, i did a 15 minute walk around the hospital floor. Waited for the Dr. to go in and see me. Once he was in he checked my incisions i was ok to eat breakfast. YUM!! LOL the nurse brought me a tray with a popsicle, 2 cups of hot water for my hot tea and 2 applejuice 4oz containers that was breakfast. i had to drink an oz of water with juice every 15 minutes. After breakfast i did my walk for 20 minutes. at 12 pm my lunch tray came in and it was 2 cranberry juice container, 2 cups of hot water for my tea and that was it. same thing for dinner but it was cran-grape juice. I was wondering when they were going to give me soups .. I was not really hungry. but i had to keep drinking and walking. I dont want any blood clogs on my legs.. i did lots of walking with my son 12/22/2009   day 3 (going home)   Last night i had a good nights sleep. I actually slept on my side. i miss my bed but i know i am going to sleep on it tonight!! WOOO HOOOOO.. There is no place like home!! breakfast was malt-o-meal only 4 oz. hot tea and the introduction to protein shake (yuck) with 1/2 an envelope of Carnation Instant Breakfast Vanilla. i ate some of it but had to drink the protein a sip at a time in less then 45 minutes. Dr walked in, checked me and said that i was ready to go home after lunch with my son. I was so happy!! at 11:30 the nurse walked in and started to take off all the attached tubes. BOY IT HURT WHEN SHE PULLED OUT THE TUBE THAT WAS IN MY STOMACH!! OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!! i showered and lunch was brought in. it was cream of mushroom, protein shake, jello and hot tea. the nurse came in with the wheelchair and rolled us out after she gave us instructions. i was so happy to see my other son and my grandnephews when i got home. i walked at night and took care of my insicions. i could not wait to sleep in my own bed and i did at 9pm! 12/23/2009 4th day   i slept so good !!!!!!!!! got up at 6:30 am ..made some hot tea drank it with my pills. went to walk at 7 am 1/4 of a mile. came home had my protein shake at 8 am . no pain at all .. weighed myself and i am 310lbs.. lost 3 lbs!!! woo hoo ... still doing the breakfast, lunch dinner and PROTEIN DEAL!! i will keep my blog going.. 12/24/2009

Well my son and I have surgery tomorrow, Dec 21, 2009.   I have to be in the hospital at 5 am and surgery is at 7 am.  My son is right after me.  He is going with me to the hospital and then he is taken in at 8:30 and surgery is at 10:30.  He was suppose to have it at 9 but dr called and rescheduled him at 10:30.   Well at least when he is out i will be there for him and with him in his room to recieve him.   I was told i have to start walking 2 hours later so i will walk to my son's room and help him wake up. 
I HOPE ALL GOES WELL FOR BOTH OF US!!!  SAY A LITTLE PRAY AND WISH US LUCK !!!!!   THANKS

HELLO EVERYONE , JUSTWANT TO LET U KNOW THAT MY PRE-OP DATE IS DEC. 2.  BOTH MY SON AND I R SCHEDULED FOR THAT DAY.   WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO GET THE SURGERY THE SAME DAY.  I HOPE THAT WILL BE POSSIBLE.  IF NOT I WANT TO GO FIRST JUST IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS.  I HAVE FAITH IN GOD THAT I WILL COME OUT OF THIS ALRIGHT AND MY SON TOO.  
PLEASE CROSS YOUR FINGERS, EYES, ARMS, TOES AND LEGS THAT WE WILL BE ALRIGHT !!!!!

Hi my name is Pat and I received my approval for the gastric bypass about three weeks ago.  Tomorrow I will be receiving my lab results for my medical clearance.
