I am graduating from nursing school in the morning.I am so thankful and excited. The stress of school caused me to eat more, so my weight loss stopped. My lowest was 289, but right now I weigh 307. I am going to get back on track right away! Well I will write more later,love and hugs. God loves us.
 

Hi folks,
 It's me again. I have not posted in ages, but things are going well. To date, I have lost 177 pounds!! I weigh 312 pounds, I hope when I reach my 1 year mark, I will be in the 200's. I have been in nursing school since January, I had finals this week and I have a B average. God has been so good to me, and it is because of His grace and mercy to me that I have made it this far. I truly do not know where I would be if He had not opened a door for me to have this surgery. My life is so different. Mostly better, though I still have problems just like anyone else. I am very thankful. Well we go into clinicals next week and I am a little nervous. I know I can do this though. Please pray that I do well because I know in my heart, I will make a damn good nurse!

I am down 119 pounds since June, I know some are losing faster, but I just thank God that I am losing instead of gaining! I know it has been awhile since I posted, but I have been so busy. I have been accepted for the nursing program and I am so happy. I start school in January. This is a big thing for me because I have been disabled for the last 8 years. I am so excited about life in general and very thankful for another chance. God has been so good, and they are so right. God has better things for us than we can ever dream of. I will post again soon. Pre surgery folks, be encouraged, for God has not forgotten.

October 25, 2009 Hi OH friends,
   just checking in. to date I have lost 103 pounds!!! I feel so good and I thank God every day for this surgery. It has made such a big difference in my quality of life. I have more strength and confidence than I have had in a long time.I have a way yet to go, but by the grace of God I will make it. Be encouraged my pre-srgery friends, your day is coming.

Aug 16,2009.I had Gastric Bypass on June 9 2009!!
  I prayed and so many others prayed for me, and the Lord answers prayer. Dr. Cleveland did my surgery and Thank God I had no Complications. I am doing well and my energy is increasing every day. I thank God for this surgery for it is really changing my life. My top weight was 487, now I am down to 422 and I already feel the difference. I will be posting from time to time. I used to wonder why people stop posting soon after surgery, but at last I know the reason, they are busy living!! They can do more feel better and are more busy with life. I do want my fellow OH friends to know that The Afters still care about our Before surgery friends and we still pray for you. Your day is coming too! Trust in God and He will supply your every need.

12-5-07 WELL I WENT BACCK TO OXFORD TODAY. I SAW THE CARDIOLOGIST, AND THE PULMONARY PHYSICIAN. THEY BOTH GAVE THIER OK, SAID THAT I WAS SOUND ENOUGH FOR SURGERY!! WELL I AM SO HAPPY. I WENT BY MY SURGEONS OFFICE AND FOUND OUT I HAVE TO BE ON AN ANTIBIOTIC FOR GASTRITIS. I CAN NOT HAVE THE SURGERY UNTIL I AM OVER IT. THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANT TO HEAR, BUT I DO WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR ME SO I DO'NT HAVE A SURGERY DATE YET. I WILL POST AS SOON AS I KNOW

   I HAD SOME PRE-OP THINGS DONE TODAY. FIRST AT 1 AM THIS MORNING I WAS HEADED TO OXFORD MS WHICH IS A 3 HOUR DRIVE. I WANTED TO BE THERE IN TIME FOR MY EGD AND IVC. IT WAS A LITTLE SCARY BUT AFTER PRAYER WITH MY HUSBAND I FELT COMFORTED. THE NURSES AND TECHS WERE ALSO VERY FRIENDLY. FIRST I HAD THE EGD WHICH THEY PUT YOU TO SLEEP FOR. I DID NOT EVEN REALIZE IT WAS OVER! NEXT WAS THE PLACEMENT OF THE VENA CAVA FILTER IN MY GROIN AREA , IT WASTHEY DID NOT PUT ME TO SLEEP FOR THAT BUT I HAD VERY LITTLE DISCOMFORT. THE HARDEST THING ABOUT THIS PART WAS I HAD TO LAY ON MY BACK FOR 3 SOLID HOURS!!! THIS WAS VERY HARD FOR ME TO DO BUT I DID IT WHILE PRAYING FOR STRENGTH THE LAST 2. IT WAS A VERY LONG DAY AND I HAVE TO CME RIGHT BACK TOMMORROW. WE GOT HOME ABOUT 630 PM I JUST WANT TO GO TO BED. GOOD NIGHT.

Sorry i have not posted in a while. Things are moving along. My problem is I just can not seem to get myself on this diet. My surgery date has been changed to Feb 8 2008. I have to be on a liquid diet for two weeks prior but I would like to lose some weight before I start. That is how it has always been with me . Thats why my weight is what it is now. I want to lose weight so bad and be healthy but it will not come off on its own. I love myself then I hate myself for not loving myself enough to do what I know is right ,Lord help me. I need this tool. This is my last chance to get this weight  off: if this does not work, there is nothing else. I am through griping I know this surgery is for me. I will use my tool and follow directions because I will have help.'' All my help cometh from the lord''.

I WENT TO SEE MY SURGEON, DR MICHAEL KING IN OXFORD MS, ON THE 20TH OF NOV. THEY WEIGHED ME(444) ASKED ME QUESTIONS,ALLOWED ME TO ASK QUESTIONS. DR KING SAT DOWN WITH MY HUSBAND AND I; HE DID NOT SUGARCOAT ONE DETAIL OF THE RISKS OF A PERSON MY SIZE WOULD BE FACING
TO HAVE THE SURGERY (RNY), BUT HE ALSO TOLD US THE BENEFITS WOULD BE
IMMEASURABLE. HE ALSO SAID MY PROCEDURE WOULD HAVE TO BE OPEN,AND THAT SCARED ME. I DID FIND OUT THAT IT IS SAFER FOR ME TO HAVE MINE DONE THIS WAY. ONE THING I AM SURE OF, I HAVE A STRONG FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. HE IS WHY I HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR AND I KNOW AS I AM ON THIS ROAD TO FREEDOM, HE IS WITH ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I AM IN HIS HANDS AND HE GUIDES THE SURGEONS HANDS.
     DR KING PUT ME ON A PRE-OP DIET
AND HE HAS SCHEDULED ME FOR A IVC FILTER AND HEART AND LUNG TEST. IF THINGS GO WELL I WILL PROBABLY HAVE MY SURGERY BEFORE THE YEAR IS OUT!
