Well here we go. As growing up, I may have been about 20-30 pounds over weight. I was always in sports. I play basketball throughout middle & high school. What I'm trying to say is, I was very fit. I had my first daughter when I was a senior in high school. I gained a lot of weight....about 80 pounds that is. After I had my daughter I lost about 45 pounds. I was very depressed due to all of the weight on my body. I didn't try any dieting at the time. I just dealt with it. Four years after I had my daughter I started dieting. I have tried so many different things....like OTC diet pills, cabbage diet, prescribed diet pills, weight watchers, Atkins, gym, walking; etc. The list goes on and on.

I got pregnant again in 2005. During that pregnancy I gained about 25 pounds. After, I had my baby...I got the 25 pounds back off. The doctors diagnosed me with psuedotumor cerebri back in 2005. It is a rare disorder that mimics a brain tumor. I have to take medication for it. The doctors said that if I lost weight, that the disorder could be reverse. So I tried very hard to lose weight by following the weight watchers plan and going to the gym 5x's a week. I lost about 35 pounds, but I got burnt out. I am currently 326 pounds at 5 '9 height. I'm tired all of the time, my knees, feet, & back hurts all of the time.

I decided to pursue weight loss surgery back in March of this year. I have research it for the past 4 years, but was undecided. I went to my first informational meeting back in March. The next day I was scheduled for a consultation with Dr. Kenneth Mitchell in Pinehurst, NC. I love him...he is sooooo cool. It took me 1 month & 2 weeks to go through the clearance process, and to get approved. My surgery date is scheduled for JUNE 22,2009. I started my pre-op diet today. I am so excited. Oh....by the way, I'm having the realize band put in.
