Best wishes to you on your wls journey, Hope you are doing great. Hang in there and try to stay focused. I am also an african american. I have had a successful wl journey, and I have not had problems with it. I started at 399lbs on 12/6/02 and so far at 7 months is 273 lbs and still have lots to go, I have already made up in my mine, this will not be a failure. and I will win the battle. hang in there ~*~Hugs~*~

Join the club girlfriend! I too am 30 or so lbs. away from goal and just can't seem to get the scale moving down again. I wish whoever has the scale fairy would let her visit my house, then I'd gladly send her your way. Hugs to you. You've done marvy so far. Keep the "family" posted.

Dear Rita, Praying that God will guide you to goal. Why don't you start keeping a food journal to make sure you are making good choices. Up the protein and do a little walking. Make sure there are limited sugars and that you are not grazing. I pray for you to reach your goal and enjoy renewed health and life. Hang in there my friend I know you will do it. Hugs Janice

Hi Rita, I've heard you go through these platues. You've come a long way and should definately be proud of the accomplishment you've already made. The only thing I can think of is, drink more water, eat more protien, and stay away from carbs. Keep up the great work and I'll be watching for your post that you are at goal...I know you'll get there. ~God Bless~

13 months post op, I've lost 154 pounds. wearing size 22 jeans. (used to wear size 34). people who havent seen me in a while dont know who I am. Thats' a weird feeling. I'm happy, but have to frequently renew my commitment to continued weight loss. I plan to lose 50 more pounds and then just maintain. If I can help or encourage anyone, please contact me. Dear Rita~~~~CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on your wonderful progress. I wish you the best of luck with your plastic surgery. I had a panniculectomy and herniorraphy done on 5/21--the difference is amazing.
