"I had my consult with Dr Schlesinger at the end of Dec 2000. I was very nervous and had no idea what to expect. At first he contributed to ny nerves by appearing impersonal. But as we all know, looks are deceiving. He was thouroughly proffessional.He had a lot of material to go over and wanted to make sure I heard everything. He remonded me of a jet pilot with a checklist. At the same time he acknowledged me as a person. He wasn't there to be my friend, he was giving me information so I can decide if he will be my Doctor. Well, he is. He explained everything in detail. I'm not going to say I remember every word and idea, but the impression of overall confidence has remained. His answer to my question of why this is his specialty was good, very good. I want a Dr who still believes he can change the lives of his patients for the better. He really seemd committed to this proceedure. Well, come April 9, 2001 my life--present and future will be in his hands. So, as a Dr I rate him high. The staff at BTC was pleasant and reassuring. They continue to help with my questions. Becky Foster ****5/10/01**** I just want to add that while BTC has the greatest surgeons, their aftercare program is amazing. They continue to teach me all I need to live in the real world. They are available everyday to answer my questions. Thanks to them, I am able to meet all my protein requirements through my food. I don't have to "drink" my meals while my family eats. With knowledge I now have power over my obesity. I really want to thank them for their continual care!! It has given me my life back. "
