My story is similar to others..I started gaining weight in elementary school. By the time I graduated high school, my prom dress was a size 18. From that point on, my weight fluctuated based on whatever diet gimick or pill I was taking. My wedding dress at age 28 was a 20. My weight ballooned with my first pregnancy and I knew I had to do something. I researched and knew weightloss surgery was the tool I needed to succeed. I knew I could do it....I just needed help.

I wanted to wait until I was done having children. I had my son in December 2010. I went to my consulation in June of 2011 (6 months post c-section). My lap RNY was 9-14-2011. At not even 3 months out...I have no regrets or doubts.

I did this for me, to feel healthy for the first time in my life...to not feel like each day I was making bad choices that would eventually end my life prematurely. Secondly, I did this for my kids. They deserve a mother that actively participates in life, not watches them from the couch....or walks as they run.

I started walking my dog 2 weeks post op. We are working our way up to being runners!! Right now, we can only jog for short periods of time...but I can already see the distance growing each time. Along with my goal weight, I have a goal distance for running!

Thanks for reading and feel free to message me!
