Home Safe, Sound and Banded!
Feb 14, 2008
I am home safe, sound and banded.
Everything went well!
My liver was small! The pre-op diet resulted in an almost 10 lb. loss and I am down another 4 lbs since the surgery on Monday. I feel very good. I didn't need any pain killers during my hospital stay. I did stay overnight and my stay at the hospital was disappointing, to say the least. Out of 3 nurses assigned to me; one was fabulous, one was good and the first, just awful.
I couldn't wait to get home. I am fortunate that I am in little pain. I am adjusting to my low fat full liquid meals. I will be on this until my post op appointment on Feb. 27.

Monday is almost here!
Feb 09, 2008
I can't believe that Monday is almost here. I have to be at St. Raphael's at 6 AM. I am excited that it is early in the morning. I pray that the pre-op diet has worked to shrink the liver and that surgery is a go.
I am trying to think of all the things I need and plan on getting everything all ready for my recovery.
I feel confident in Dr. Nadzam. The last time I saw him was Jan. 18 for my endoscopy. I was a wreck and he came over to me before I went in for the procedure to say hello. As he left to get ready, he squeezed my hand and all my fears left. A simple thing like that! In the room, he explained everything he was doing and as soon as the meds were administered, I went to sleep! Woke up in recovery! Simple and uneventful!
Let's hope Monday goes as well.

Pre-Op appointments
Jan 17, 2008
I had my endoscopy today as well as the priority testing.
Very thorough pre-op requirements. I had a chest xray, an EKG, blood work, a meeting with the anesthesia nurse and a complete physical. Next step is the pre-op meeting!
