"My first impression at the seminar on January 10, 2002 was a good one. Both Dr. McCarty and Dr. Kuhn seemed very approachable which is important to me. The presentation was well put together. They offer a support group which meets once a month and everyone was very upbeat.
I met Chris Arrowsmith, who is the office staff person. He seems really nice but somewhat overwhelmed. I know I've inundated him with alot of emails as I'm very anxious to have the procedure done and over with and get my life back in order so I'm wanting responses NOW but I need to be patient. He is only one person and based on the volume I observed at the seminar he's a very busy guy!
As for which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner or both...my answer is BOTH. While it is extremely important to have a competent surgeon--you are truly trusting them with your life. It is equally important to have someone that doesn't treat you like a number. I will let you know what happens when I have the surgery!!!! Stay tuned...."
